Great read.

Something like this belongs between the leather bound covers of the Principia Discordia.

Hail Eris!

There's no other mind I'd rather meet with Ergo. Your alliteration always brings comfort.

Trolling, however, wasnt always *just* about baiting and name-calling. It might have involved those aspects, but it also used to include others, such as cleverness and creativity, that have dropped by the wayside.

This is the fearful aspect for myself. With the careless use of trolling nowadays, the intent is to no longer stick a wedge in the all too easy flow of popular thinking for the sake of change, but to one-up another. The former involves creativity and wit to engage the masses. The latter uses more cruder forms to incite rather than inspire.

Thinly veiled sarcasm, irony, and humor, they did battle, many times even in the guise of a devil's advocate. And many were able to appreciate it. This is true.

Let us come to the aid of our God with all our devils! All Gods were devils once.

I thought 'Does Philosophy Have a Purpose?' was your last thread?

Friends, this marks LesMisanthrope’s final thread and departure from ATS. I do not have the opportunities to perpetuate his character on these boards any longer. I hope, to some, that he was a good enemy; and to others, maybe even a comrade. However the painting is finished. Timid brush stroke after timid brush stroke must, at some point, end. Like all of those we read, we must say goodbye when we put the book down with the comfort of knowing they still live among the words within.

Farewell.

Did you stop posting or did you just change the characters name?
Be honest now - honesty is important, you said so in the OP.

In the story characters never change names. He exists as long as you keep reading him.

The internet isn't real, itsnowagain. Its a fairy tale. To you I am but an avatar and a series of paragraphs. The author doesn't exist here. He's somewhere out there in the real world.

Ok - the no straight answer says it all.

The writer cannot hide his identity - the spots appear in the same places.
