Monte-Carlo

In 2009 it took at least five days to find any trace of AirFrance 447.

They did not find the jet for TWO YEARS, until 2011.

How quickly people forget.

Big difference between finding wreckage at 3,800 and 4,000 meters ( AF447) and 80-100 meters deep ( MH370)
edit on 12-3-2014 by Monte-Carlo because: (no reason given)

I would have to agree. And to add to that...bad weather (AF447) and good weather/normal/clear skies/calm waters (MH370).

just my own speculation but i think this plane was shot down.
this plane veered off course, and a military entity happened to pick it up and not say anything for 4 days?

I don't see anything on the image except a large red circle?

I'm sorry. The thread is long, I forget which image or link you are referring to here. I tried clicking on my hyperlinked name and it just reverted me back to your comment.

This is from the press conference.

Hussein was asked why it had taken so long to reveal that the plane had turned back. He said the authorities were still not sure whether the plane had turned back which is why the search continues on both sides of the peninsula. “We have nothing to hide,” he said.

If they have nothing to hide why does the story keep changing?

Because they know very little and are exploring all possibilities?

I have a hard time believing they know very little. There is much more to this then we are being told.

Possibly there is more, or the Malaysian authorites are not quite up to dealing with things on this level but I don't think the Malaysian authorities have changed the story, they are open to all possibilities but the media reports everything that has been said as a new development that somehow negates anything said previously.

From the source you quoted

Civil aviation chief Azharuddin Abdul Rahman confirmed that defence radar picked up an “indication” that the plane turned back. He said this was why the search operation had been extended to the Andaman sea.

Hussein stressed this was just a “possibility”.

So they thought it a possibility but the media puts it in a headline as a certainty.

I think they have meant to reply to me about this picture I posted. I think they were looking in the circle and not outside of it to the right

Makes a lot of sense...

The only question it brings me to ask...
Why build Planes of any kind, and give such important systems an "off" switch???

That defies logic to me if I'm honest!
Maybe an ATS resident who has an Aviation background could answer that though!

Peace!

Anyway seen the latest conference confusing or what.

Royals Royce are saying they received two data dumps to their facility in Derby.

They say last military spotting of the plane near penang

Then in another statement say can't guarantee it was mh370 as it was unidentified.

One more interesting they say it turned west next they say they can't verify that!!!

No one appears to actually know what they are doing

Guardian reported says now investigating a possible third potential location for spotting of the plane.

Wtf springs to mind!!

Machinery doesn't have feelings.

"(Assured)Exactly!!!... (Ponders Japan)Unless!... (Denial)No???... (Aggressive certainty) Megatron!!!"

Realistically More likely however is that you are 100% correct... All out systems failure across the board perhaps!!!

Personally I'm hoping for a grounded (at a Chinese Military Base) hostage situation that can be negotiated peacefully...
Let's hope all 239 are still alive & well!!!
Just in case people think I'm not taking this seriously!

Peace!!!

To be honest I haven't seen it pal!!!

Thanks for the update, I'm strictly sticking to what's posted rather than sifting through Media interpretation...
ATSers seem to have a much better grasp at relaying info than MS journalists!!!

Either that or sticking with Xinhua (Chinese news agency)!!!

The confusion is probably the bigger mystery now unfortunately!

Peace!

Pure speculation here... but maybe

Maybe the 20 scientists made a plan to sell their technology to the highest bidder ? That might explain why so many nations are involved in the search.

Maybe they are sitting some where safe and sound and hashing out negotiations on their newly found and highly sensitive technology ? Maybe their disappearance from radar was a show / demonstration to prove they had the technology and it put them in the spotlight with many parties to negotiate a deal.

Or maybe the group got really scared about what their new technology was going to be used for and wanted to flee, or show it to the world and while doing so things got fouled up by the parties that did not want it getting out.

Might explain why the one guy left his wedding band behind...if he knew things might go sour quickly...

Just thoughts...

Whatever happened or is happening... I hope everyone on the plane is found safe

Well, this is putting a different spin on things!!

I had actually considered the plane may have crossed some space-time window because of all the trouble they are having locating it, but was waiting for further developments.

Aliens plucking planes out of the sky?!! Oh dear!!!

Six important facts you're not being told about lost Malaysia Airlines Flight 370:
www.naturalnews.com...#

The inescapable conclusion is that Flight 370 simply vanished in some way that we do not yet understand. This is what is currently giving rise to all sorts of bizarre-sounding theories across the 'net, including discussions of possible secret military weapons tests, Bermuda Triangle-like ripples in the fabric of spacetime, and even conjecture that non-terrestrial (alien) technology may have teleported the plane away.

The frightening part about all this is not that we will find the debris of Flight 370; but rather that we won't. If we never find the debris, it means some entirely new, mysterious and powerful force is at work on our planet which can pluck airplanes out of the sky without leaving behind even a shred of evidence.

if the size scale is accurate i would think those pieces are too large? also the time stamp of the image, any idea what time zone that is, even possible that was taken after the fact or an old image taken before the 'event'?

Natural news being completely over the top and irratonal as usual!

Black box recorders are not destroyed (true!) but they only transmit a signal over a short distance (thousands of yards I think), it would be even shorter if it was under the sea, so it makes no difference that the black box is transmitting, no-one is 'not telling us' about that.

Natural news is also ignoring that the plane had enough fuel for 2000 miles when it stopped transmitting, that is a vast area of sea to search. It has not 'vanished'.

Not really.

The surface of the ocean is the surface of the ocean. It took a week to find debris on the surface in 2009. The jet itself was found two years later

This makes a lot of sense...
I'd be tempted to ask how you came to this conclusion...
But like Magicians never reveal their tricks... I believe that great Minds should not share their Philosophical techniques!!!

It's also away from the doom & gloom scenarios that even I have speculated!
Your theory brings hope that these people are all alive & that's a great thing to ponder!

We all hope that is the case, your very possible theory helps us come to that conclusion with a bit more than Faith!

I & I'm sure others will appreciate that!!!

Peace LL!

If there was a slow decompression in the cabin and everyone lost consciousness slowly (remember the reported mumbling reported from another airplane when contacted the MH370, that, kind of a drunkiness feeling when deprived of oxygen), or if the pilot suicide theory is correct, or if the pilot got attacked by another suicidal passenger (the reportedly invited people into the cockpit), this has all happened before, one flight crew got attacked with a hammer but managed to land the airplane, and several suicides have happened, most of the time due to financial dept.

In any case, if the crew and passenger for whatever reason got incapacitated, or if the airplane got hijacked but the hijackers didn't even know how to disengage the autopilot or didn't even care to do so, it could have kept flying past Bejing until the they ran out of fuel, i don't know how much reserve they got, but reserve + glideslope, maybe they could have gone so far as latitude of north east point of mongolia, maybe that is a stretch.

Even if the "hijackers" or whatever changed their direction the flight would have atleast an endurance of 5000km. That would be quite a search :S

I would love to spend a couple of days fine combing every part north of Bejing to test all possibilities but there doesn't seem to be maps available in that area and taken after disappearance

My two cents. Maybe the plane suffered some kind of electrical failure maybe, maybe fire. Perhaps the plane was successfully landed on the ocean somewhere. If the plane broke up at 30'k then we would have found debris by now it would have sprinkled the ocean and I'm sure will all the ships out there someone would have found a seat or something. We might not be looking for a plane but maybe life rafts. It is also possible the plane was put down in water then sank.
