The Russian checks out as a professional diver, a few stories on him. Virtually NOTHING on the Ukrainians. Does anyone have info on Sergeii and Oleg?

I found this page for Oleg Chustrak.
foto.mail.ru...

What I got from Google Translate:

Education -
School 1 (Ukraine, Savran)
ONPU (OGPU, PGI, Odessa National Polytechnic University) (Odessa, Ukraine)

Birthdate -
November 3, 1980 ( Scorpio ), 33 years

The schooling makes sense, given the photo of him working on power/telephone lines.

Thank you for getting the translation. That age of 33 conflicts with the age of 45 on the Malaysian Air passenger manifest.

I'm so baffled by all this its driving me insane so goodness knows what the families must be feeling.

I'm still of the mind that it's something sinister and not merely a technical failure, how on earth can the plane still be missing after all this time, I definitely agree there is far more we are not being told, they know something for sure.

There are lots of reports in the media regarding the sudden turn of the plane and an anonymous person "close to the investigation" has made some comments.

Apologies if this was already posted source

I'm just surprised that on a site like ATS, and especially after the happenings of 9/11/2001, so many people refuse to consider the possibility of a covert US operation to hijack a plane. There were undoubtedly people onboard (defense contractors) who would have been of great intrest to the US. If it was determined that some big breakthrough was made, i wouldn't rule out such a devious plan. Look at the big picture. Which way did the radar indicate the plane had diverted to? Where would potential abductors have an opportunity to land? Which airfields would have been in range to accomodate an aircraft the size of a 777?

Everything lines up perfectly, and the assumed flight time would be approx 4 hrs, the time that some datasuggests that the plane was still flying. Diego Garcia is remote and inaccesible to all except those stationed there. They have the runway and hangar facilities to hide a plane that size.

To the naysayers I ask, with the extremey sensitive nature of that facility in regards to US strategic interests, shouldn't their facilities have been able to track a "rogue" 777 in the middle of the Indian Ocean heading directly for their location? Why isn't that information available?

Kind of nullifies your point to begin with. The company is based out of Houston, TX, not elsewhere. If the government wanted to get all up in their business, it wouldn't take much on the domestic front. No need to jack a plane when simply sending suits with okay'ed paperwork to strong-arm the HQ's lawyers gets the job done.

Thinking of the cargo shipment, I thought about something.
Could it be possible that the aircraft was carrying some kind of precious freight? I know it is far fetched to steal gold, jewels... but maybe it could be some kind of precious tech or else.
I know it is a bit off track, but just sayin...

Could Guam fit in with this if the plane was "stolen"

a) i asume it would be within flying range?
b) if(big if) it could fly undetected over see not land?
c) if taken by the good boys would it then be within range of russia?

just throwing an idea at ya all

NY Times releasing a report on 370 saying that at one point the plane ascended to an altitude of 45,000 feet, way above normal, then descended to 23,000 feet.

They also have readings from Rolls Royce that show the plane descending 40,000 feet in less than 1 minute! Although they are now attributing that to error.

Error?

Whats with all the errors lately? Those engines are supposed to be some of the most sophisticated in the world

That's a good 7 and a half mile change in under a minute? What's average cruising speed, 500, 550 mph? I suppose that change is doable, but what kind of stress does that do to a plane? (redundant Q, I'd imagine a lot of stress)

I was reading on another aircraft related forum, that the plane was short ~50 people who were on standby. It was stated that there was a large single piece of cargo being taken on the plane enroute to Beijing which had an approximate weight of 50 passengers and their luggage.

Last year there was over 1020 tons of gold shipped to China...I wonder what kind of precious cargo could be on that plane.

Also, with the amount of speculation regarding the plane being taken to Diego Garcia...What about on a Chinese level? They manage Great Coco Island which is allegedly owned by Myanmar and it is also in the Andeman Islands location, which is where its speculated the plane turned to. The chinese have expanded the runway there in recent years, and its largely uninhabited. Could also tie into the random updates of the Chinese saying they had satellite imagery of wreckage in the complete opposite direction, maybe as a diversion or to by time?

NYTimes reporting that the plane ascended to ~45,000 ft. which is above the approved altitude limit for the 777. Possibly deliberately done in attempt to depressurize cabin and render passenger/crew unconscious?
