If the USA was a complete "New Country" after 1776, why were the names of the original colonies kept? They should have been re-named should they have not?
It seems all too many people do not want to give credit to the people who founded the US, and want to give it all to the immigrants, who only came here after the pioneers created this nation.
As far as the people living in the territory that would become the US, a great number of them joined our civilization and their descendants live among us in relative anonymity.

Tough talk from your keyboard..

I guarantee you a swift ass kicken at the very least if you dare lay hands on a proud American for defending our American flag.
I for one do not agree with so much of what goes on these days in regards to politics and all the bs, but I for one along with many others see our American flag as a symbol of freedom and liberty. I respect the flag as this is what it represents to me regardless of whatever sh!# ain't right within our borders at this current time.
We have become too politically correct to the point we disrespect our own selves.
This man represents a dying generation of people who are honorable and respectful.
How dare you say what you did. It's because of people with the ideals of this man that you didn't say it in German.

A colony is not a country.
You don't immigrate to a colony, you join a colony.
The names stayed the same, but their status changed from colony to state.

According to you, unless you are an American of European descent.
Then you are a descendant of immigrants, and so do not have the right to defend your nation from invaders, or claim that your ancestor founded this nation, apparently they were still immigrants.
Well, it seems these days that the only people who have a right to defend their territory are people in third world nations. Anyone in a first world nation against immigration is some kind of NAZI.

Most Americans never owned slaves, and they were their own cheap labor source.
This claim that immigrants built this country is simply not true.

I don't see your point.
And the people who call themselves Palestinians are actually Arabs, and before it was Palestine it was Israel.
After the US revolution, the colonies became the US, and each retained its own identity as a state, not a colony.
No no no, I'm saying if you ARE of European descent then you ARE an immigrant and the USA was most certainly build on white ENGLISH immigrants. Why no love for the brown ones?

My ancestors were born here in the US before it was founded as a nation, they were not immigrants to the US. The colonized North America. There is a definite differences. Just as the Spanish colonized Mexico.
I don't know where you get the comment on the "brown ones" Because I see the US flag as a symbol of liberty, that means I am a bigot?
