Behind Putin's Cynicism and Hypocrisy
The Kremlin's ruler wants to extend to neighboring countries the tyranny he imposes on his own people.

You can usually figure what Russian President Vladimir Putin is doing and why by noting the actions and values he falsely projects onto others.

Over the past several weeks, for example, he has accused the Ukrainian government of stripping autonomy from Ukraine's eastern regions, while moving to end local elections in Russia.

He has claimed U.S. "mercenaries" were operating alongside Ukrainian forces, while infiltrating Russian special forces to seize Crimea and organize violence in Ukraine's east.

He has called the Internet a CIA creation, while trying to bring Russian social media under the control of a secret police-dominated state.

So when Mr. Putin justified intervention in Ukraine by accusing its government of human-rights abuses, it was a bad sign for the Ukrainians who would soon be subject to his rule.

The new authorities in Kiev aren't perfect. But international organizations have found no evidence that they are or were suppressing the rights of the ethnic-Russian minority in Crimea or Ukraine's east. Pro-Kremlin separatists, on the other hand, have been attacking their unarmed opponents with growing abandon. Every offense Russia falsely attributed to Ukraine's Maidan is in fact being committed by its own forces and proxies.

No ive even posted RT articles has nothing to do with it. See your showing bias that all western media is all lies. See many Ukrainians were not going to get involved in this until the separatists over played there hand. Many people in Eastern Ukraine dont like Kievs new government mostly because they bought into alot of propaganda. But even propaganda is based on some truths. Problem was Eastern Ukrainians dont want Russia to take over for many reasons including financial. Now that they see this there starting to say enough is enough this has gone to far. What will happen is one of two things will see Eastern Ukraine have a civil war or more likely Eastern Ukrainians will negotiate with Kiev on more control locally and separatists will be pushed aside since they are a minority group.

I was in Kiev in mid-March, and I saw it with my own eyes! There ARE Nazi elements! I can´t say exactly, how much influence they have, but if they had NO influence, I´m sure this banner would not be there!

As far as Ukraine doesnt matter really which way this falls in the end Russia played a very high price to play this game. And no matter the outcome has done severe damage to there economy over Ukraine. But let me ask you this if you truly believe the US is behind this do you really think there going to let Russia come out of this ok? Reality is if they were there going to create another Afghanistan for Russia. Years of fighting with armed forces getting help from the EU and US. So you better hope the US isnt as involved as you like to think or there wont even be a russia in a couple of years it will be owned by Bejing.

Pretty much there influence in those political parties in Ukraine Western areas and in Kiev wouldn't be made possible without the aid and the
involvement of non-governmental organizations including the one led by Sen John McCain. These NGOs not only provide fast selling of shirts but also they have better tools to contact each groups the same they tried in Syria but failed.

The issue is not Russian nationalism or Ukrainian nationalism.

Any nationalism defined by narrow interests will always backfire.

The issue in Ukraine is different. West is trying to make Ukraine a spearhead against Russia, that has strong impact on the sense of security and stability of Russia. Russia has been forced into taking a course that it may not have wanted.
