May 5, 2014 website The Jerusalem Post reported that the Jewish community of Odesa is about to evacuate from the city. The author of the article refers to several unnamed leaders of local community.
However, the press secretary of Odesa Jewish community Boleslav (Ber-Shmuel) Kapulkin refuted this information.
“On account of appearance of the information about evacuation, intended by Odesa Jewish community, I inform that neither any immediate evacuation, mentioned in these reports, is on the way nor it is being planned. Odesans (including Jews) are shocked by the tragedy on Kulikovo Field, but they do not feel any direct danger for the Jewish community, so there are no buses with opened doors and sputtering engines”, wrote Kapulkin on his page in LiveJournal.
NATO is prepared for non-conventional warfare used by Russia to annex Crimea, Estonian Defense Minister Sven Mikser said.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s 1949 founding treaty “can be effectively used to counter new threats” and doesn’t need to be revised, Mikser said in an interview yesterday in the Estonian capital, Tallinn. The former Soviet republic, which shares a border with Russia and has a Russian minority, has “full confidence” in the accord’s article that members consider an attack on one of them an attack on all.
Russia pays high scientific price over Ukraine
7 May 2014Eugene Gerden
Brookhaven is one of a number of US Department of Energy labs where Russian scientists will no longer be welcome © DOE
The annexation of the Crimean peninsula by Russia and the subsequent tensions over Ukraine has seen the US Department of Energy (DOE) impose a ban on scientists from Russia working in its laboratories, which include some of the largest physics and chemical centres in the world.
A letter from the DOE was recently sent to a number of well-known Russian physicists, chemists and mathematicians, who conduct some of their research in DOE labs such as Brookhaven National Laboratory, explaining that they will be banned from entering the US. Simultaneously, the US government has banned DOE scientists from visiting Russia. An exception will only be made if the visit deals with issues affecting nuclear security, weapons of mass destruction or ‘national interests at the highest level’.

I think it´s true that there is much propaganda by the Russian side, but in my opinion there is at least the same amount of Western/Kiev propaganda! We have to be very careful about what we believe! In my case, I don´t blindly trust ANY news outlet. They all have their agenda! The truth is somewhere inbetween.
