Sunday, March 2 12:22 GMT: Two tents have appeared near the City Council building in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, RIA Novosti reports. People are gathering near the Donetsk administration building, some of them are holding Russian flags. The banners, “Russian is our mother tongue,” and “Our brothers are in Russia; in Europe we are slaves,” are being carried by the demonstrators. On Saturday, pro-Russian protesters seized the regional administration building in the city and hoisted the Russian flag above it. After that, the City Council refused to recognize Ukraine’s self-proclaimed government and called for a referendum on the region’s status. The council has made Russian alongside Ukrainian the official language in the region.

Note, massive propaganda is being spread by both sides at this moment. Just keep this in mind.

There are reports now that numerous military vehicles full of unidentified armed men have pulled up outside a Ukrainian infantry base. I can only see this going one way. It's going to be an interesting next few hours...get ready everyone for the start of WWIII!

Ukrainian army has mobilized, plus reservists call in. I think we may see a response.

People are being taken away by what looks like police but I'm not sure.

You are correct there is a small group with Russian flags in Kiev.

Just in-

The rally in Kiev was also attended by ex president supporters and people with St. George ribbons - apparently activists "people's militia" who "called for peace, but said that he would never support the Bandera". Organizers Maidan ask people not to succumb to provocations

Who is the broad looking fellow in the background with the hat? Is that a special forces pin or something on his beret?
I don't mean to be rude, but between him being very power behind the politician, the creepy looking priest caressing his symbol and the ranting guy this almost looks like something out of a comic book.

If I were Russia I also would not want Dmitri Jarosch anywhere near the top of the government in the Ukraine...
Such a dangerous man got power after the protests, that was just a wrong move by the Ukrainian government and seems to be ignored by the western media.
The government of the Ukraine right now was a failure, a lot of the original protesters don't even want them.
They are as dangerous and corrupt as Janukowitsch and Timoschenko would be.

The victims will always be the people, sad story.

What would you like NATO to do With regards to Russia?.............. Start WW3?

What we see now is where Russia draws the line. If NATO, US or EU try anything militarly. It is all out war.
