Religion vs. Politics.

You're either religious or a politician. The two don't go along. Or you swap from the one to the other as far in case you have to deal with politics and need to suck up for yourself not being killed, but true believers die for their faith.

When you vote for politics, you vote for war, murder and poverty, but ofcourse, politicians keep you aware of only one side of the medal.

Do you go religious or do you go politics?

I can't stand either one. Religions treat people like slaves and try to dictate their lives with the threat of eternal punishment if they don't do as they are told. Politicians treat people like slaves and try to dictate their lives with the threat of jail or death if we don't do as we are told. They are the same monsters with different names. I don't like being threatened by anyone so they can both go to hell (not that I even believe in hell) as far as I am concerned. Cheers

They are both institutions designed to control how people live and think. We can chose whether or not to subscribe to a religion, but politics are forced upon us.

That is true in some places. There are still alot of places in the world where the politicians force religion on people. Religion isn't always a choice.

Atleast that is the situation in the U.S.A.

In some countries religion dictates the politics. Both are just messy as hell.

It has nothing to do with morality with me at all. The morality of it all is a whole other topic. It's just part of my personality. I just don't respond well to people who threaten me, I won't stand for it. It's very simple.

I think morality is simply a persons ability to distinguish between right and wrong behavior. I don't need a religion to tell me hurting other people is wrong. I don't need someone else to threaten me with eternal punishment to be kind and courteous to people I meet. I surely don't need it to love other people. My emotions tell me that. It comes from the heart, not a book or because someone else told me to I HAD to. I honestly don't think dedicating my life to a religion is a moral of any kind.

Did morality set me free? Free from what? I'm not a captive or in jail. I am sitting at my computer drinking coffee lol.

Break the laws of religion and Gods judges break them of governments and man judges.
Law is control but giving up some freedoms to be part of a society must be expected.
Its giving to people who abuse those powers or are misguiding you is the problem.


For me governments and religion serve a needed purpose but corruption & closed minds ruin them.
Society needs its rules and we owe our existence to them.

You cant consider a human race without such structures.

I follow both but part of neither, no voting no church. No borders no rituals.
We have got as much as we can out of fantasy religions and pyramid structures and need to change.
Religion needs to learn how to teach a modern society and politics need to be for the people.

Law is not control, if law were control nobody would do opposite of what the law demands.

Law in itself is the permission for punishment when said law is trespassed.

Hmm I wonder why religion and politics don't go together too well. Wait I know they both fight for control of the population. The lies blind and disorient. Unfortunately both politics and religion lie and manipulate to further their own goals. There's no difference between the two from what I see.

Religion and politics aren't the same. Politics set rules that (normally, but not so much these days) are voted on by the people in order to fit how they want their society to be. If you try to fit religion in to politics, you start forcing people to follow laws set forth by ideals they don't agree with.

A law can be just one rule, religion is a massive set of rules. Sorta like when politicians pile stuff on to other laws to get things they may not be able to get passed otherwise. Attentive people notice this and largely don't like it. Look at the Affordable Care Act.

My student loan interest doubled because of that law.

Edit: However you are 100% correct that they are both institutions designed to control the populace, I'm not a fan either

If you want to live in a civilization, you need laws to protect the innocent. When we were hunter-gatherers, religion was that set of laws from their Gods, each group different. But, in a civilization with a common economy and social structure, there are diverse views, religions, creeds, races. Without a democratic government, it would be chaos, one group trying to overcome another. Like in the Muslim countries.

My religion is protecting my family, and my politics is that I vote, every time, every election, local, state, national.
