Huskys are like having frat brothers around to cause #....LOL...had an uncle with two and I swear they were two of the smartest and most sarcastic/ballbusting dogs I have ever met.

Only way to describe them.

My mom had a half shepherd half husky mix he was awesome. They semi lived together with my mothers semi-boyfriend who owned his litter brothers.
They were all three very diferent but each was super fun and together they were always getting in trouble one way or another.

Like we were bbq-ing it was getting dark and 'merry' and out of nowhere bamm! dog on the table grabs the first thing near his snout (a roll how disappointing right, whole table full of meat and the idiot grabs a roll!!) and runs off into the dark garden.

Awesome dog. But together they were a bunch of breakout specialists and killed at least three chickens and two cats.

we had one for 17 years, he passed away recently and a few weeks later a 1 year old female was in the pound so of course the wife insisted.

They are great dogs, but I am starting to hit that age where having a couch hippo is more appealing.

Almost called this thread "Cat Sh*t Crazy", but this works too.

I remember saying, "Oh you're just haters, Family Guy", but they were actually right again. Kinda.

Cat owners twice as likely to go insane

T. gondii is a mostly harmless parasite that can be transmitted through undercooked meat or contaminated water.

A bite from an infected cat or the feces of an infected cat can also transmit T. gondii. It's estimated that around 40 million people in the US may be infected, usually without any symptoms. Meanwhile, researchers keep finding more strange effects that infections may have.

Once inside our bodies, T. gondii can infiltrate the central nervous system and influence neurotransmitters. The parasite has been linked to personality changes, the emergence of psychotic symptoms, and some neurological disorders, including schizophrenia.

I never wanted to think cats make you crazy. But that's a lot of people possibly infected by their feline friends.

Jeez, killjoy scientist ruining cats for everyone. And I'll have you know, my cat talks to me because I am telepathic!

Total B.S. Article . Is this some Stupid " Opinion Piece " ?

Toxoplasmosis is harmless, toxocariasis is a b*tch though. You get it mostly from dogs but my acquaintance got it from her cat, which she was feeding with a spoon and the idiot licked the spoon several times. She found herself in the hospital and nearly lost her eyesight.

So no, eating together with your cat or dog from the same bowl is not a good idea. And it is advisable to wash your hands after cleaning the cat's litterbox. It could be obvious for adults, not so much children.

Thanks for the info, I used to work for a law lecturer who went blind from that but wasn't aware cats could also spread it.

Mine has learnt how to undo any vacuum seal/celophane the second my back is turned after doing the weekly shop and never fails to take a single bite out of every item purchased - I feel less guilty/wasteful having to trim them off and giev them to the little tossarse.

Mine is a bacon fiend. He sits on the hob and if I'm not quick enough getting it under the grill he'll hook a slice and run away with it. The thieving little sod.

Should have called him Mark Dennis - aka Dark Menace.

We're getting a rescue kitten soon - Willow.

Apparently she is a bit 'feisty"

So that's why all my friends said only I and my partner could hear our cat speak.

Cool. I thought they were crazy and we were sane. The more you know.

We got Carl as a rescue cat. The RSPCA said he'd suit being a farm cat. Apparently that was a euphemism for "pyschopathic and feral".

He's fine now. Sort of.

Guess the clue was when they brought him out of his cage. She was wearing oven gloves with magazines taped round her arms.

We bought a catnip carrot for daughters cat. Was in Mrs Carpys hand bag. In packaging. We just got Carl and he was feral living behind a sofa only coming out when we'd gone to bed. Found the empty packaging but never saw the carrot again.

Probably ate it.

Not just schizophrenia.

For years, it's been known that toxoplasmosis gondii influences psyche and even lowers the IQ of men.

Another study around the same time said that while it does not lower the IQs of women, it does cause to them to act more promiscuously. Link

So, we can deduce from that that if you have cats and you're a guy, your significant other may be cheating on you and you're too dumb to realize it.

Thanks cats!

Can we deduce from your deduction also, that too many variables exist. Since your significant other may not be cheating and one of your cats nine lives may be telling you a different tale?
