What if the assignment was to write a rebuttal of the statement? Or perhaps to poll the members of the family and start a discussion? I'll reserve judgement until I have both sides of the story.
The teachers in the stories above haven't been fired, but another one was for "illicit Bible conveyance," for giving an inquisitive student a Bible.

OK, first of all what kind of crayons are these? They must be magical back pack writing ones
Second, why would a 4th grader write on a backpack WITH crayon? Crayons aren't usually even used in 4th grade, they normally are told to buy colored pencis. I know this because my mother teaches 4th grade.
Third, this phrase is obviously not the words of a 4th grader. The syntax, verbiage, and composition are above the writing skills of a child in the 4th grade.
Why would a kid waste time copying verbatim something a teacher may have said in crayon on a backpack? 4th graders are more concerned about playground politics. How could it even be read hours later at home unless it was written in marker?

But now I will say should my child bring home anything similar to this.....I Will make a Huge stink and under No Circumstances will this pass by without being addressed and brought to the attention of anyone willing to listen..That is A Fact. The Children are the responsibility of the parents and the Teachers are employees of the tax payer.
