WARNING! This is information absolute not confirmed!) An explosion deep within Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility has destroyed much of the installation and trapped about 240 personnel deep underground, according to a former intelligence officer of the Islamic regime. The previously secret nuclear site has become a center for Iran’s nuclear activity because of the 2,700 centrifuges enriching uranium to the 20-percent level. A further enrichment to weapons grade would take only weeks, experts say. The level of enrichment has been a major concern to Israeli officials, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly has warned about the 20-percent enriched stockpile. The explosion occurred Monday, the day before Israeli elections weakened Netanyahu’s political control. Iran, to avoid alarm, had converted part of the stockpile to fuel plates for use in the Tehran Research Reactor. However, days after the recent failed talks with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iranian officials announced the enrichment process will not stop even “for a moment.” The regime’s uranium enrichment process takes place at two known sites: the Natanz facility with more than 10,000 centrifuges and Fordow with more than 2,700.

The regime currently has enough low-grade (3.5 percent) uranium stockpiled for six nuclear bombs if further enriched. However, more time is needed for conversion of the low-grade uranium than what would be needed for a stockpile at 20 percent. It takes 225 kilograms of enriched uranium at the 20-percent level to further enrich to the 90-percent level for one nuclear bomb. According to a source in the security forces protecting Fordow, an explosion on Monday at 11:30 a.m. Tehran time rocked the site, which is buried deep under a mountain and immune not only to airstrikes but to most bunker-buster bombs. The report of the blast came via Hamidreza Zakeri, formerly with the Islamic regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and National Security, The blast shook facilities within a radius of three miles. Security forces have enforced a no-traffic radius of 15 miles, and the Tehran-Qom highway was shut down for several hours after the blast, the source said. As of Wednesday afternoon, rescue workers had failed to reach the trapped personnel. The site, about 300 feet under a mountain, had two elevators which now are out of commission. One elevator descended about 240 feet and was used to reach centrifuge chambers. The other went to the bottom to carry heavy equipment and transfer uranium hexafluoride.

One emergency staircase reaches the bottom of the site and another one was not complete. The source said the emergency exit southwest of the site is unreachable. The regime believes the blast was sabotage and the explosives could have reached the area disguised as equipment or in the uranium hexafluoride stock transferred to the site, the source said. The explosion occurred at the third centrifuge chambers, with the high-grade enriched uranium reserves below them. The information was passed on to U.S. officials but has not been verified or denied by the regime or other sources within the regime. Though the news of the explosion has not been independently verified, other sources previously have provided WND with information on plans for covert operations against Iran’s nuclear facilities as an option before going to war. The hope is to avoid a larger-scale conflict. Israel, the U.S. and other allies already have concluded the Islamic regime has crossed its red line in its quest for nuclear weapons, other sources have said.

However, this information was not revealed for security reasons until several days ago when sources said the regime’s intelligence agency, through an alleged spy in the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, had learned of the decision to conduct sabotage on Iran’s nuclear sites on a much larger scale than before.

As reported, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called an urgent meeting Tuesday with the intelligence minister, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization and other officials to discuss the threat, and now it’s clear the meeting included the sabotage at Fordow.

Several Iranian nuclear scientists have been assassinated in recent years. Last year, saboteurs struck the power supply to the Fordow facility, temporarily disrupting production. And a computer worm called Stuxnet, believed to have originated in the U.S., set Iran’s plans for nuclear weapons back substantially.

The 5+1 (the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany) hope to resume talks with Iran over its illicit nuclear program. The talks ended last year after regime officials refused to negotiate.

Sources in the Islamic regime previously have revealed exclusively to WND the existence of:

A secret nuclear site in Najaf Abad.

A list of Iranian scientists working on a nuclear bomb.

A secret uranium enrichment site in Khondab, where the Russians and North Korean scientists are helping with Iran’s nuclear bomb program.

The secret bio-weapons site in Marzanabad, where, with the help of Russia, Iran has mastered production of eight microbial agents, arming its missiles with biological warheads.

Another nuclear site at Bonab, where, with the help of Russians, uranium enrichment is taking place using laser technology.

At work at min, and can't really look into this on work pc,, can anyone find more details?

I had to come on here so I can keep up on this. It just goes to show, kids should not play with adult things. I'm goin on RSOE to check it out. They are a pretty reliable source. GEEE, I just can't rationalize the thought processes of people sometimes???

Ok something is happening here:

If this story is accurate, we will see one of Iran's proxies, Hezbollah or Damascus, counter with an attempt on Israel. This would also bolster our suspicions that Iran will likely declare to be nuclear armed after the next successful test of a nuclear detonation in North Korea.

UPDATE..... 1/26 - Debka reports that a two car convoy of high-ranking Iranian and Hizbollah officials were k!lled in a planned attack of multiple car bombs in the Golan area in Syria. The article also mentions this article and the unconfirmed - and undenied - reports of sabotage in the Fordow nuclear facility in Iran.

I usually check RSOE first, and then come on ATS. I get a kick out of the "Events into Space" They are about things falling from space. Look at the name, can you see my quandry? LOL Sorry got side tracked.

Haven't got there quite yet, But I will come back and let you know Phat.

EDIT:

Ok, if this is true, we are going to see some scary sh!t coming in the future.
The nuke thing is one thing. I use to have nightmares when Regan was president, always hearing about the Cold war, Nuclear war on the news, being 9 yrs old, I didn't really understand what was going on, but I knew it could hurt alot of people.

Now the Biological thing scares the bezjezus out of me. Being much older now, I understand more than I want to know.

If it was sabatage, good, like I said, kids should not play with adult things.

In my opinion, the Iranians are way tooo radical for such toys. Also, people blow themselves up, and take out innocent people with them.

I told my uncle this once, he got upset, because he said it would never work.
Take the people who want to maryter themselves in the name of Allah, put them all in one country. (kinda like the prison in Escape from New York) And tell them to have at it. ( If you haven't seen Jeff Dunham, Achmed the dead Terrorist is the best...did you see the look on Jhellels face, it's not there no more, but did you see it?) The same thing with Nukes, isolate them, and let them blow themselves up.

I am a pretty simple minded person, and the simplest answer is usually the best all around. Cut and dry, black and white.

Good to hear. I hope this blast set them back decades.

Whether or not this was an accident, it is a good thing.

If Iran thinks this was sabotage, even better, it will force them into stricter control measures, which will slow them down even more.

Could be accurate if you believe DEBKA...
Ynet picked up the Fordow incident, but cite WND as the source.
Personally I'll wait for Reuters to pick it up before I start #ing my pants

From your source:

While I am extremely skeptical of this report’s veracity until I hear more, this is potentially a massive development. More to come.

Let's Chemtrail Iran! If our intelligence community was smart they would simply overfly all the troublesome countries while spraying some type of powerful sterilizing compound. We could pull back and wait for the male population to stop breeding.

This sounds harsh however an Iraqi Consultant to the USA Joint Chiefs of Staff told them in no uncertain terms that the only way to win a War on Terror (now being renamed a War on Extremism) was to kill two generations of males... Blood feuds that go back thousands of years will not be settled out by a Country less than 250 years old.

couldn't a search of iran's official news agency website confirm this explosion.

why would they not report it. the only reason would be because they wouldn't want show weakness.

but then again, when has iran not taken the opportunity to embarrass the u.s. at the united nations.

condemning an attack from the u.s. or israel in front of the world would not be something iran would pass up.

Come on. There's nothing about this on CNN.com, Foxnews, or the BBC. What's going on?

That RSOE website lists this disaster as occurring today, the 26th. I just googled a query and came up with this:

This site lists the disaster as happening yesterday. Gawd, I hate unprofessional reporting.

It is on the RSOE site, and they are pretty reliable. The link is in the OP. Ok, so if this is not real, where did the 240 people missing go to??
