Ive searched & cant find treads on this , sorry if there is one
or its in the wrong place, I just wanted to share

www.buzzfeed.com...

I find these pics haunting, yet beautiful. It is proof that Earth will reclaim when we ( humans are gone). The Pripyat, Ukraine ( Chernobyl) most haunting by far for me due to the nature of why its abandoned. Yet earth & nature reclaiming the land & nursing it back to health. I hope we dont see any repeat of this incident, sadly I think we will and maybe not that far off. Nothing is permanent in this forever changing world, if only we could do a better job of looking after what we have.

The silence is so powerful in these photos. Life will carry on, and nature will do its thing. Some of these are excellent inspiration for paintings.

Thanks for posting.

I find them to be extremely peaceful and beautiful.

Imagine if the entire world was like this if we somehow got wiped out like the dinosaurs before us.

Great Pic's OP . Thanks for sharing.

I once visited the town of Famagusta , Cyprus . Now that place is eerie .
People literally dropped what they were doing to flee an impending Turkish invasion .
Once the playground of the rich and famous , Famagusta is now a ghost town , a shell of it's former self .

Haunting pictures.
Nice thread, shame about the cities though.
Personally I like the one in Italy.
There's many towns like that in Spain also.
Thank's.

Very cool. The pics kind of look like what's going to happen to Toykyo while all the citizens keep burying their heads in the sand.

Can we get a radiation check over there that's not funded by the government?

Oops....The radiation is blowing south to Korea. Who cares then. Right?

We're doomed.

Cheers!

I often wonder if a day will come that the headline in some alien newspaper is going to read "Planet Earth Found Abandoned"

You know, when I first saw your title, I thought these pictures would actually be of hauntings and other ghostly things, not just pictures of random, abandoned places that really aren't that creepy.

Sorry OP, but no S&F for you. *shrugs* I was hoping for something even just a little interesting.
