It seems as though they through out the story from the books.

I don't know if this will justify a spoiler warning but just in case....

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD... SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Avoid the below quote

For anyone who has read the books, you know that Shane getting shot by Carl is about as close the series has gotten to following the books since the pilot episode last season. However in the books, Shane was shot, while pointing a gun at the back of an unknowing Rick's head. Carl shows up and saves the day.
The idea of Rick shanking Shane and then coming back and getting killed for a 2nd time is all knew.

Of all the changes they made to the series, Shane being killed soooo much later than he originally was suppose to, Sophia's Death, the introduction of the Dixon brother, yada yada, yada, nothing has really pissed me UNTIL they killed off Dale. WTF?! Where did that come from? Dale was suppose to hook up with Andrea, live in the RV, and a lonnnnng time later, he would get bitten by a zombie and then captured by Cannibals, only to inform said cannibals, aftered they'd cut off a piece and had a taste that he was "infected."

They've changed so much, and Robert Kirkman (the man who penned the books and the show) seems to not care at all about upsetting the fans. I mean; the death of Dale would be like killing Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It completely alters the story.

By now they should've already been out of Hershel's Farm and on the way to finding the abandoned Prison to live in for a while, battling marauders, zombies, and a few crazed prisoners. Hopefully they'll still go this route, but the waiting and waiting and waiting for Shane's Death via Carl was really starting to piss me off.

And where's Michonne?! (fans of the books will know what I'm talking about)

[End Spoiler]

This will definitely not be the last season of the walking dead. My theory is they'll continue off script and make some serious changes. My forecast for this show is as follows...

-Sophia's Mom will be killed during the finale. In the original she went crazy, but her daughter was still alive. Now that Sophia is gone, she really has no purpose to the story.

-Andrea and Daryl will hookup since Dale is gone (who she was originally suppose to end up with), and Shane is FINALLY gone (who she ended up sleeping with this past season). People hate Andrea in the show, but in the books, she was this beautifully written, broken, yet brutal/strong woman. Hopefully they'll get her to this point.

-Hershel will die defending his farm, leaving Maggie and her sister to join the group.

Whatever happens in the finale (which looks like it's shaping up to be an homage to Night of the Living Dead), the show will definitely go on.

I think it may have something to do with the burning of the bodies. The particulates are in the lungs after breathing around the fire and smoke?...

Or maybe Shawn infected himself in the bus by cutting his own hand to render blood as bait, AFTER head stabbing a few walkers.

Anyhow, how does Carl miss the walker in the swamp but shoot literally inches past his own dads cranium and headshot Shawn after he becomes a walker? cmon...

The last cutaway with all the zombies just over the hill was scary as BALL$$$$$

Next Sunday night will be a nail biter. Any more info/insight?

the virus is in everyone. and carl never shot the zombie in the swamp

My thoughts based a bit of the comics, and a bit on hollywood (Since we are guessing at this point, not sure if its spoilers or not...)...

I don't think they will get rid of Rick's hand, because..well, it would be too difficult to get rid of his hand in post processing for every scene for the next...10 years or whatever.

I do think Andrea will curiously become the morality of the group...her siding with Dale right before he died...and she did this by being reminded by him that she was the one that stood for peoples rights and liberties before TSHTF. That seemed to really connect with her and snap her out of her self centered ways...even the last scene with shane and her in the car was a demonstration of a serious rift that came between them...and her sort of taking on the role as soft encouragement towards Glenn at the truck...ya, I suspect she will quickly turn from super-bish to the voice of humanity...not a wimpy pacifist version mind you (as arguably dale was), but strong compassion and lawyeresque in a way.

I think when they get to the prison and hook up with the prisoners, that will be the long haul meat and potatos of the series in regards to dynamics...More protagonists ahead

The scientist at the CDC whispered something into Rick's ear before everything went to hell...what did he whisper? I suspect it is "everyone is infected, and will turn when dead"

I think T-Dawg may have more than 2 lines in an episode next season...long shot, but hey..could happen.

that will, apparently, be revealed on Sunday night in the finale and, I'm guessing, it has to do with the sudden ability to turn zomb without being bitten.

With regards to t-dog, he went from having lines and being a somewhat involved bit character to being one of the faces that you see in the background of scenes, along with herschel's insanely large clan of nonspeaking family. it's sad because I like him.

I'm still holding out for the return of Daryl's brother. I'd love to see how he would handle that, given his completely different role in the group over the past season.

Considering the last 2 episodes and the preview of Andrea running with a bag full of guns and the story from that kid Rick saved about that "Group of men" who go around raping. I see her out on her own running in to them and well you know.

That's one storyline i do not want to see The Walking Dead is good with twists you never see coming.

Glen and Daryl have been somewhat more front and center this season than last but t-dog is a dead man walking. he was important when you had the racist rednecks (daryl and his brother) around and he played a big part in the abandonment on the roof scene but, since then, he's faded into the background.

I hope Rick loses his hand, they hook up with Merle Dixon and kick some walkers A$$'s

Then in celebration they try to high five each other with stumps.

Or go Bruce Campbell and throw on some amputee attachments ala: chainsaw, shotgun or quite possibly Gerber products since they're splashed all over TWD constantly.

Hate to say it but the next episode is the perfect way to write them off the show the zombies horde is there they break into the house don't know who is going to survive.

And People Daryls brother lost his hand why would they repeat and event that was already played out?

Because in the story, Rick loses his hand during a run in with some marauders who arrange fights between "walkers" and the living. His hand being cut off was a form of punishment. If they're going to stick to this route, they have to introduce Michonne.

The Dixon Brothers weren't in the books at all, but I see your point.

They could play it out that Merle Dixon shows up, and in an "eye for an eye" form of payback, he takes Rick's hand. Who knows? They're so off script right now, it's not even like the books anymore.

Woo-hoo Looks like good news is in the works

Old news apparently, but an article I missed...

Read somewhere that it has been airborne all along, this is supposedly what Rick was told at the CDC, right before they left the Doc. and has been keeping secret from the group... though I'm not so sure it played that way in the episode because after watching it, it did no appear that he anticipated Shane rising... maybe he just didn't anticipate it happening so quickly.

Keep in mind, they aren't trying to bring every aspect of the comics to life. Clearly they are using some major plots and characters from the comics, and maybe an overall direction, but ultimately they are going for their own unique feel.

I wonder how well the walking dead game will do (not the facebook thing, the actual game). That is a really interesting method they are trying..with 2-3 hour gameplay episodes released like a subscription...I wonder how many events from the episodes will tie into the show...I am thinking many off camera events will be put into the game that the television show does cover, but you never connect unless you are playing the game also...

for instance, you are in some town in the game, you have to escape by blowing a hole in the back of a diner and running out...then a couple weeks later, the television show shows some characters walking through that same town, and in the distance, you see the back of a diner with a hole blown in the back sort of thing.

if he knew that the zombie virus is in everyone and when you die there's a chance you will rise up, regardless of being bitten, and he didn't share that information with the pack, he's a moron.

that's some pretty important information to withhold. the kind of tidbit that gets people killed.

I wonder...

If Ricks wife did indeed have that miscarriage abortion thing, would there have been a tiny zombie fetus squirming around...

Rutina Wesley is rumored to play her. She would be Tara from True Blood.

You'd think that if Rick had gotten some important info from the doctor at the CDC he would apply it to his plans.

He's killed countless walkers and now a good many live humans. I don't think he expected Shawn to turn that fast either.

Just hope all the writers have not rushed through this all and left classic script errors. Varying the original is hard enough, combining the comic just adds more conglomerate.

We will see...
