Most of the issues have to do with trash removal, lack of sanitation stations (hand washing, showers, even bathrooms)

There are seriously no politcally movtivated garbage men or purell employees out there?

Not even bed bath and beyond came to their aid?

but really, these people shouldn't need to defecate and have it stagnate before someone says something.
i'm getting a little sick just thinking about it LOL

There have been so many smear campaigns against OWS already, I have a hard time taking any article regarding the whole thing as fact.

What makes you so sure that there are smear campaigns? Where there's smoke, you can usually find fire.

That's a huge problem with that location. As far as I know, unfortunately portapotties aren't allowed. OccupyKC has a few portapotties, and it's being maintained nicely.

They should all just crap at the base of the big banking buildings. Better yet, develop some sort of poo-slingshot which allows them to dispose of their waste while covering the banking buildings in feces.

Uhhhh. Garbage men in most cities are union employees, there's no way they are going to help without getting double time and a half.

Bed Bath and Beyond as well as Purell are owned by corporations, you know the evil enemy.

I'm not sure that they're all smear campaigns. I'm not saying this is one either. But there definitely have been some, and so far I haven't heard anyone say that they saw all this going on with their own eyes and it's not an exaggeration. I know that the one here (Seattle) is pretty clean, and people work hard to keep it as sanitary as possible, but people here tend to be pretty environmentally conscious anyway. I'm not saying that's the case everywhere, I just want to hear from people with their own personal experiences regarding cleanliness is all.

Yeah, but their union won't allow it.

Um, no. I can freely assemble. But my rights stop, when they start infringing on yours.

They have a right to a peaceful assembly. Doing that in a dirty environment doesn't make it a violent assembly. Brutally attacking pedestrians and cops, storming into buildings and trying to burn the place down while attempting to murder the CEOs would make it violent. Taking a dump in a bucket is not violence.

Um, no. I can freely assemble. But my rights stop, when they start infringing on yours.
What rights have been infringed upon? Freedom of being aromatically pleasing? The right to not get sick from a dirty environment? If somebody doesn't want to go there and risk getting sick, then don't go there. There are plenty of other occupy protests that don't have that many people confined so tightly and actually have portapotties.

Can you point out to me where in the Constitution it says that "when a citizen or group of citizens infringes upon another citizen, their rights are nullified"?

Just because something "looks" clean, does not make it "clean" .. Fact of the matter is health departments have inspected and found some seriously dangerous conditions at OWS camps.

You must be referring to the Multnomah County Health Department, as quoted in the article you posted with your OP:

Dave Austin, spokesman for the Multnomah County Health Department, said even though it’s a city park, county health officials have been going down to the Occupy Portland camp every week and a half or so, just to walk through. As of last Friday, Austin said, "there are no actionable health issues at Occupy Portland." "If we do see anything, we'll let the city know so they can make a decision on what to do with their park property, said Austin.

No? Must be some other health department...

I'm not always denying things, but when I do, I deny Ignorance. Stay informed, my friends.

Understood. I'm just sick and tired of the people who are saying that everything derogatory about OWS is a manufactured smear campaign. You have to love their model though. By there being no organization, it is easy to say that anybody who does anything wrong, doesn't represent the movement. Just throw them under the bus.

I went to the one in Pittsburgh, just to see what was going on and wasn't there thirty seconds before somebody tried to provoke a fight. I guess they thought I was an undercover cop. (I'm not). Personally as soon as the Communist Party, the Nazis and SEIU endorsed it, they lost any minimal support I had for them. You hear them all saying that "they don't represent us", but you don't see anybody tossing them out either.

What I found funny though, was when I was walking up to where the protest was, a cop informed me that if anything started I would be held responsible, not the protestors.

Spreading disease is an infringment of my right to live healthy. If they weren't there, I would not have that concern.
Ergo, they are infringing.

They have lost their rights.

As far as I know, there's nothing in the Constitution that grants the right to live "healthy". If you don't want to get sick, don't go there.

Awesome reply. If it did grant that right, we would have nationalized healthcare. Something OWS protesters are fighting for...

I was unaware of this. Can you point this decision out to me? But onto this supposed infringements of your rights, I refer you to this from my last post:

What amazes me is these people have just as much power as anyone else. I am not happy at all with our current government, and really not happy under the Bush terms. Protesting can help, anything past that will not help.
You have a voice and a vote...use it wisely.
When TPTB usurp are rights is when everything needs to change. That is basically what the Tea Party is looking towards, putting the rightful power back to the people... not any Politician or Corporation or the Federal Reserve.

I am pleased by neither party, all promises are blowing in the wind.If Medicare and SS can not be controlled, do you really expect the Government to do anything about Education? Take a number. Our Government can not even take care of the existing problems.

Infringing on your right to be healthy?

What happens if a business infringes on your right to be healthy?

What about pollution?

You against free markets now?

You sound like a communist socialist marxist to me.
