Obama Administration to Ban Asthma Inhalers Over Environmental Concerns

The EPA under the obama administration actually believes there are enough asthmatics using inhalers out there to hurts the earth's atmosphere?????

Remember how Obama recently waived new ozone regulations at the EPA because they were too costly? Well, it seems that the Obama administration is would rather make people with Asthma cough up money than let them make a surely inconsequential contribution to depleting the ozone layer:

Asthma patients who rely on over-the-counter inhalers will need to switch to prescription-only alternatives as part of the federal government's latest attempt to protect the Earth's atmosphere.

But the switch to a greener inhaler will cost consumers more. Epinephrine inhalers are available via online retailers for around $20, whereas the alternatives, which contain the drug albuterol, range from $30 to $60.

Star and flag. This is just sickening... So pretty much obama is giving people who have asthma the middle finger. I really do hope the end of the world comes soon...

Time to stock up on Epi inhalers. The investment might be better than gold from 10 years ago. Too bad you have to show a DL and can only buy one a day.

I was unaware that Obama was in office back 2008, inauguration was in 2009.

The FDA finalized plans to phase out the products in 2008 and currently only Armstrong Pharmaceutical's Primatene mist is available in the U.S. Other manufacturers have switched to an environmentally-friendly propellant called hydrofluoroalkane. Both types of inhalers offer quick-relief to symptoms like shortness of breath and chest tightness, but the environmentally-friendly inhalers are only available via prescription.

Another money making scheme. Get rid of OTC asthma inhalers and let us pay more for prescription ones. They can never get rid of asthma inhalers, never. Make sufferers pay more, yes, but they can never ban them all.

This is sick, sticking their hands deeper into sufferers' pockets, doing absolutely NOTHING for the environment might I add.

I notice that several things you have posted can be sourced to Bush, but you use them to
advance you anti Obama sentiment. Do you care about the truth of your arguments? It
seems rather indignant to use such a method.

It sounds like several business's have lobbied and exerted their pressure just right.
You bring up Obama, but this plan is before his time, if the regulators sent out letters
of intent to manufacturers, the government could be sued pretty bad by companies
who spent money, retrofitting by striving for compliance. But I guess that idea is too
complicated to examine here?

Well, it's the EPA And Obama did finalize it with some kind of greener inhaler. Hmm, looks like the EPA and the FDA involved. The FDA apparently had to approve the alternative.
