If it isn’t worth risking men whose job it is to risk their lives then the job certainly isn’t worth doing. Also, that isn’t a plan it’s an idea to be used as part of a plan and whilst in theory it has its uses it isn’t really needed.

I think you are massively underestimating Iran’s capabilities. Also, “little old Iran” is four times the size of Iraq and it is one of the most mountainous countries on the planet, illustrated by this excellent topographical map:



If the dominant intention of your war is to decimate Iran’s nuclear capability, not just simply kill people, then your idea is insufficient to say the least and it doesn't deal with the problems that will arise from a war with Iran.
