How'd you like to be up there when the thing is going!!!

There's a huge wind farm along the I10 on the way to Palm Springs here in SoCal.

I've never seen them from up in the air though!

Thanks! I would hate to be up there when that thing starts spinning! I get dizzy just looking at that picture.
how do the maintenance mechanics get up there to work on this thing???

They had a feature in the paper a while back, they go up through the column to reach the gear housing.

They said the housing was the size of a bus, but from the ground looking up it's hard to get a sense of scale.

From afar the blades don't look like they're going all that fast, but when you get closer and try to focus on the tip as it whirls around, it'll definitely make your head spin!
