AI is more dangerous than, say, mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production,” Musk said in a short clip from the interview.
“In the sense that it has the potential — however small one may regard that probability, but it is non-trivial — it has the potential of civilization destruction,” Musk added.
Musk’s pursuit of an AI project is drawing scrutiny given his vocal admonitions about the technology. Last month, Musk joined with more than 1,000 experts in signing an open letter advocating for a six-month pause in the development of advanced AI systems.
The letter argued the pause was necessary to protect the public until proper safety protocols have been developed and vetted by independent experts for the industry.
The experts cited potential risks including the spread of “propaganda and untruth,” job losses, the development of “nonhuman minds that might eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete and replace us,” and the risk of “loss of control of our civilization.”

All the supporters say it's not mind control and to take your tin foil hat off. But everyone who has wrestled with the propaganda machine knows this is one big step closer to total information control.

In the Bible those who take the mark cannot be saved. Is it because they will dismiss all religious doctrine as "fake news"?

My understanding is that, if God is, and there is/will be a Mark of the Beast, that one cannot be 'tricked' into taking it, it must be done with full knowledge and comprehension of the consequences.

Nevertheless, one must admit that this technology has its drawbacks, especially in the hands of those who have proven themselves less than trustworthy when it comes to scruples.
I agree, but IMO both FOX and Breitbart are controlled opposition sites.

You know how annoying they are with shouting "fake news" right now? I can't link an article to fox or breitbart anywhere even off topic forums with no rules. Just fun and discussion. But they come out of the woodwork to shout about how your link is bad because it comes from bad people. They won't even consider the contents of the article. They just switch their brains off and want everyone else in the thread to switch their brains off too.
When they control the internet link to your brain that is going to get 1000x worse.
I would rather not have an ISP control my thoughts. I will read whatever i want from whatever sources I want, and will give due consideration to whatever information I choose to find interesting.

But everyone who has wrestled with the propaganda machine knows this is one big step closer to total information control. If they can filter all your sources of information you are brainwashed even if you don't realize it. The thought that there is information out there you don't have access to would never even enter your mind. They will create a prison of the mind so complete that the thought of escape would be unthinkable.

I'd give it a year before it's stuffed with mods viruses and all sorts of strange little hacks.
