I put the squirrel thing in there because it seems like if you try to focus on what that "thing" is, something usually comes up to make you stop thinking, like a distraction - a squirrel. This happens frequently, to a point where I have wondered whether the thing itself is throwing curveballs of thought so that - like maybe one's life would be better if a person didn't notice that thing staring.

Sometimes it is a little maddening because, it's right there, so obvious. But somehow we collectively don't see it. Or maybe I am insane, I dunno. I just can't grasp it.

I think she may be referring to the vril alien bodysnatching phenomenon in which supposedly a small alien parasite must travel through the eye to "get ya"..
