Will Smith Assaults Chris Rock on Live TV at the Oscars

Wow, Will Smith charged onto the stage and smacked Chris Rock across the face for telling a joke at his wife's expense (after first laughing at it) then received an Oscar for best actor! No, they did not escort him out in handcuffs for assault. Different rules for some folks.

It was probably just a planned event to give people something to talk about. Seems like making controversy is a part of the New age Oscars now. Expect more of this in the years to come since many people believed it was not scripted.

Smith goes rogue the joke wasn't that bad. Regardless of her condition. But could be a bizarre publicity stunt but I doubt it at first glance

That was not scripted, and Chris Rock took a major hit to the face. Will Smith walked right up and SLSPPED HIM HARD. Over a G.I.Jane 2 joke.



What an A$$hole. I realize he was sticking up for Jada, but damn. Live T.V. and they didn't censor it.

I didn't watch, I was binging on "Resident Alien". But YT was kind enough to push it just a bit ago.

Will Smith famously turned down the role of Django because he didnt believe in violence and the movie being about revenge

The actor further explained that he thought the movie sounded great. However, he didn’t agree with the way that Tarantino wrote the character’s journey.

“We talked, we met,” Smith said. “We sat for hours and hours and hours about it. I love that one to make that movie so badly, but with that story, I felt the only way I could make that movie is it had to be a love story, not a vengeance story.”

Smith concluded: “I don’t believe in violence as the reaction to violence, so when I’m looking at that, it’s like ‘No, no, no.’ It has to be for love.
