Not a single news source is talking about the fires in Turkey. Only aljazeera.
Four killed as wildfires sweep Turkey, force evacuations

That is not a lot of coverage for this many fires breaking out in just 1 country. Aren't they usually capitalizing on such a crisis to get views ?

"The group "Children of Fire Initiative", take responsibility in a statement for the sabotage attacks on the tourist attractions areas of Turkey: "Since the Turkish regime does not understand any other language, it is time to bring them to their knees with fire flood.""

Is that true - maybe. There's a lot of hatred in the non religious community about the current course of the government.

Wildfires continued to rage near popular tourist destinations in Turkey on Sunday, a day after some hotels were evacuated and their guests taken to safety.

Five fires continued to burn near the coastal cities of Antalya and Mugla, the Minister of Forestry and Agriculture, Bekir Pakdemirli, tweeted Sunday, although he said that 107 fires were “under control.”

At least six people including two firefighters have died in the raging blazes which began in 32 provinces on Wednesday, roaring through forests and sending temperatures soaring.

Thousands were forced to evacuate as they encroached on settlements and tourist destinations.

Turkey AND Italy AND Greece
bad time for the Mediterranean

A heat wave across southern Europe, fed by hot air from Africa, has led to wildfires across the Mediterranean, including in Italy and Greece.

Firefighters in Italy said on Saturday they were battling wildfires in the southern island of Sicily for the second day straight. People were forced to leave their homes, and the local airport temporarily shut down.

Temperatures in Greece and nearby countries in southeast Europe are expected to climb to more than 107 degrees Monday in many cities and towns, and are expected only to ease later in the week.

Easy Forrest fire prevention by cutting sections of trees so the fire can never spread.

When this is presented in a liberal court and they here cut trees they vote against it.

Cut trees or have fires, it's your choice

Local news (Europe) is saying that local news in Turkey reports that the Kurds are claiming responsibility for the fires with statements like :
"We don't have weapons, but we do have matches"

Makes you indeed wonder if Erdogan is using wildfires to blame the Kurds

Either way, it's still very sad for all those people who lost everything in the fires... the video's coming from Turkey are heartbreaking

not getting better

The Mediterranean has become a wildfire hotspot, with Turkey hit by its most intense blazes on record and a heatwave producing a high risk of further fires and smoke pollution around the region, a European Union atmosphere monitor said on Wednesday.

Wildfires are raging in countries including Greece and Turkey, where thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes and on Tuesday a fire threatened to reach a coal-fired power plant. read more L1N2PB0FC

The fires have struck as Southern Europe experiences an intense heatwave, with some places in Greece on Tuesday recording temperatures of over 46 Celsius (115 Fahrenheit).

I don't doubt that some of these fires are being set by loser idiots (happens in California etc) but this goes beyond man-made.
hope rain comes soon.

fires reach Athens suburbs

www.reuters.com...

Hundreds of fires have broken out across the country as Greece swelters in its worst heatwave for 30 years, from the western Peloponnese to the island of Evia east of Athens.

The fires near Athens have burned around the main highway linking the capital to northern Greece and by early on Friday had formed a wide front threatening residential areas of Thrakomadedones, Stamata and Agios Stefanos. The area is a prosperous and tranquil zone prized for its forests.

Some of you really need psychological help. Seriously guys? Innocent people are suffering, nature is being destroyed, and you want to bitch about some bad experiences you've had with Turks or talk about Turkey's past?

Im no fan of Turkey or their government, but this isn't the time or place.

These fires along with those in Greece are deliberately lit.
In Greece the government blames climate change despite police busting arsonists.
In Turkey Erdogan and his cronies blame everyone but them selves. And they should blame them selves. Because they've left Turkey without a fleet of fire fighting planes, their Canadairs are rotting away. They also refused help from Greece, but then again they blame Greece for the fires.

The fires wouldn't be so bad if governments weren't playing an agenda. The fires wouldn't be so numerous in such a short time span (talking hundreds of fires in 24-48 hours) if they weren't deliberately lit.

You guys can talk about imaginary weather control weapons like in previous years threads, but fact is arsonists on the ground have been and continue to be caught, and incendiary devices continue to be found.
