The Left Can’t Meme So They’ve Just Decided To Ban Memes Instead. Internet Censorship at Last?

Well, it's official. The EU technocracy has passed Article 13 and they are coming for our MEMES.

www.infowars.com...

www.google.com...

Following studies that proved the political right was more successful at creating and spreading memes than the left, Facebook has announced it is developing a new AI algorithm that can detect and ban “offensive” memes.

It’s almost like there’s some kind of connection here.

“Facebook announced the deployment of a large-scale machine learning system named Rosetta, which it’s using to automatically and proactively identify “inappropriate or harmful content” in images on the social network,” reports Fox News. “In other words, Facebook developed an AI that can tell if a meme is offensive.”

Of course, defining what is “offensive” is completely subjective and is wide open to abuse by far-left political agitators who control Silicon Valley. Offensive speech is part of free speech. Unless a meme contains pornography or graphic violence, it should not be banned.

Just as the left can no longer form cogent political arguments outside of calling their opponents racist bigots, the left can’t meme.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------

These turds have messed with the wrong bunch of nerds. Ban memes? Really? Because you're losing the MEME WAR on every front and so you have to GET RID OF THEM? HA!

I spit in your face, globalists. We will not stand for INTERNET CENSORSHIP. Kekistani members from around the world shall unite and WE WILL DEFEAT YOU.

Eh... Facebook has been banning offensive memes for a very long time. I've had to make 3 accounts because of it. And seriously? Do you pay attention to the memes of the right? They can't spell, for starters, so even if the meme is good it instantly loses its power.

Obama was talking about internet kill switches but the EU has gone too far. Kekistan and 4chan need to unite before they take the internet down.

It doesn't matter. They are coming for the memes.

Once the memes go, what's next? Anything humorous? Anything that criticizes the government?

I've seen this movie before...

Ah, so will this AI/algorithm also adapt to changes in political climates?? Somehow, I doubt it.

How hard is it to scroll right on by memes? Not very, if I'm any example. I do it on a constant never ending basis.

What's "offensive" any way?? They don't ever seem to define that with any degree of certainty. Or is it one of those "I'll know it when I see it!" thingees?

Nope. People can not, apparently, be trusted to decide for themselves.

...and, yes, I know that FB is a private company that can do pretty much as they please. So don't bother telling me that.

By this I assume you mean the ''tech giants'' centered around the San Francisco Bay Area. I would expand that to ''all'' the high tech companies around the world that are pumping out their digital devices across the globe and ushering us all into a digital age where we are all tied into a vast network of electronic images and information. From this may I also assume that these ''far-left political agitators'' are also spread across that whole spectrum of digital providers?

If so then then there is only one solution to this problem. Turn them all off. Walk away. Head down the street in a 1970 car or skate board and go door to door telling people to quit their devices because that is what it will take.

You see, it is not that those people in Silicon Valley are far leftists, it is that they are capitalists with products to sell and in doing that, like all other corporations are doing what they can to acclimate the population to purchasing their products.

The right needs pictures and cartoons to convey their simplistic approach to complex issues. Progressives can use words to convey thoughts that span the distance between "this good" and "that bad" and "me show funny picture".
