The devil is in the details.

If you read it all, the Senate sided with the DOJ and FBI opinion. Whereas the NSA said not really.

The House of Representatives sided with the NSA assessment.

The DOJ and FBI have been shown to be utterly corrupt and biased against Trump. They have been the cornerstone with Obama holdovers of the #resistance and filled the ranks of Mueller's investigation. Most of which were so blatantly biased that even Mueller had to kick them off of the team as there was no amount of spin they could apply to hide their bias.

So Senate says ok to DOJ/FBI version
House says ok to NSA version.

It is funny that Congress cannot get documents from Rosenstein's DOJ yet the Senate will just take their word on things. Never Trumpers last stand.

Internal intel war, NSA vs DOJ/FBI. Congress taking sides.

After the midterms Trump won't give a damn anymore and could very well fire the lot of them, the witch hunt's days are numbered.

But why? "Putin says he didn't do it."

It's because Congress put pressure on the administration. Heavy pressure.

That's hardly news. Russia's govt. didn't want Clinton as president, as I doubt they really wanted to restart the Cold War. Whether that's actually what would have happened isn't, of course, knowable... But the chances were, I think, and the Russians, seemingly agreed, good. (damn, that's a lot of commas.)

Anyhoo...

I do find it interesting that they contradict each other though... Kinda surprised me. The second report seems more likely to be correct. Rather than the whitewashing first one.

So you get the point.

You're surprised that a bipartisan report contradicts the Nunes report?

I'm not.

I'd kinda like to know, as well.

Being wrong, isn't necessarily being played...so long as you don't continue to double down on the mistake.

I hope that you do not think that Russia's "attempts" actually did anything to actually affect the election.
Clinton lost all on her own.

Putin did not help Trump, his intention was to hinder Hillary. Anyone running against her would have benefitted by what Putin did, it was not to help Trump.

Hillary should have not been so pushy with Russia trying to influence an election there when she was Secretary of State. It is her own fault, this basically does not have too much to do with Trump at all. Other than her loosing votes may have made trump gain votes. Hillary actually caused way more harm to her campaign than all of the other people that were trying to sabatage her winning.

No. To be honest, i was expecting something of another whitewash. That that, seemingly, didn't happen, was somewhat surprising to me.

I read the whole report and they say this has been going on since at least the 70's, and that they have targeted both major political parties in each election.

Hillary ran on a hardline stance against Russia counter to Trump's stance of better US-Russia relations. Of course Putin would prefer Trump. That's news to nobody.

Also,

The Committee notes that the ICA does not comment on the potential
effectiveness of this propaganda campaign.

And

The unclassified ICA cites efforts to collect on the 2008 election and the
Soviet recruitment of an activist who reported on Jimmy Carter's campaign
in the 1970s, demonstrating two examples of Russian interest in U.S.
elections. The ICA failed entirely to summarize historic collection by U.S.
agencies as well as extensive open-source reporting -significant elements of
which are derived from Russian intelligence archives - to present a more
relevant historical context.

So this has been happening to both parties for 50 years and the intelligence agencies have failed to properly document the scope of such influence. But it was this election that's significant for reasons unidentified by any intelligence agency.

I also see that more can be expected.

Yes.
And I remember that Trump said the ICA said there was no effect on the election.
