SeaRAM has successfully engaged targets up to Mach 2.8 so far. It's got a pretty good chance of stopping them. The last time I looked it was also 10 for 10, with some pretty realistic tests thrown at it.

This whole business with the DPRK is going to set off something. The gravity of that won't set in for at least ten days following Seoul being rendered a pile of ashes.

After trying to speak with reason and with facts about the Norks for about ten days now (in various threads) I've come to realize that people actually want this fight to happen.... Foolish, but whatever.

If we make it through Friday (4/28/17) without yet another escalation toward war I'll be breathing a sligh sigh of relief.

They're not preparing anything. It's a semiannual drill that they hold all the time. It's a normal thing for the area.

Courageous Channel is a regularly scheduled exercise. It is unrelated to any current or specific event. Noncombatant readiness exercises called "Courageous Channel" are conducted semi-annually, usually during the spring and fall each year. During these exercises, a full dress rehearsal of NEO is conducted. The purpose of this exercise is to train all participants in the procedures to follow during the alert and assembly phases to instill realistic expectations. In order for any plan to work, it is essential that the participants fully understand all aspects and stages of the plan. To make the whole process work successfully requires practice.

The participation of noncombatants is the most important aspect of any NEO training. This helps in providing realistic training for both military personnel who execute the mission and noncombatant personnel who must know what to do in an actual crisis situation. It is mandatory for all DoD-affiliated noncombatants, including non-emergency essential U.S. Government employees and contractors, to participate in the Courageous Channel exercise. Military retirees are also encouraged to participate. NK holds live fire drills with artillery, apparently up to 400 units. Supposedly this is not that normal and came after they saw the big scary sub parked down south..
US nuke sub has appeared at port in S Korea, popping up at an opportune time to send a message. Of course it is just a regularly scheduled port call....eh hem.

Things are ratcheting up. N Korea is speculated to go for the live nuke test for some sort of army founding celebration.

Things are getting interesting all over.
Gotham Shield concludes on on the 26th.
The entire senate is set to meet on the 26th.
The Vinson is expected to arrive on the 26th.
There will also be a "full scale exercise" in the national capitol region(DC,MD,and VA) on the 26th.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day.

Divide and conquer, divide and rule. Dividing North and south is an interim solution to total domination. Been used before with varying degrees of success. Vietnam for instance was a total flop. The Russians and Chines been there a lot longer, aren't going anywhere, will kick US ass into the sea, if we are stupid enough to try and take the whole Korean peninsula.

They'll wait US out, let US make the first move, as always.

So your previous post before my last reply was a lie then huh? The S koreans have the US there at their request these days. They can have them leave at any time.

As to kicking the US azz into the sea. dream on. The SOuth koreans dont want to invade the north. So th eUS as well will not invade the north.

Vietnam was almost a win militarily though . one of their own commanders of the VC stated as much. but the U S pulled out a month before victory. The final battle they fought the VC were destroyed basically. That wa sa political loss not a military one in Nam.
