“Our revolutionary forces are combat-ready to sink a U.S. nuclear powered aircraft carrier with a single strike," according to North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party’s newspaper, the Rodong Sinmum.

The paper also likened the USS Carl Vinson to a “gross animal” and said a strike on the carrier would be “an actual example to show our military’s force.”

Lil Kim is a lunatic.
What is he going to do, launch one of his dud missiles with a nuke on it to try to blow a fleet out of the water? What else could he be threatening short of a nuclear strike at sea? China cannot control him if he is escalating the rhetoric after what amounts to sanctioning him.

The time is soon when everyone at the table will publicly agree he has to go.

We have to take out (murder, assassinate, snuff-out, etc.) Kim Jong before he makes good on any of his threats. We'd probably cause some collateral deaths, but the number would be far smaller than what he would cause with his pre-emptive strike(s).

The Carl Vinson can launch a low-flying cruise missile at Kim Jong's golden potty when he takes his next crap. The range on our missiles is almost 1,000 miles.

Reuters reports same.

I don't actually think they'll do it. If they intended to do it, why announce it to the world, just do it.

But...

This is ratcheting it up a notch or four...

That CBG is going to be growling and prowling now. Claws out. Here's hoping for continued sanity.

So to prevent a war, you want to start one?

Do you have any clue just what would happen to Seoul? Any at all?

If there is any glimmer of rational purpose in this threat, he might be trying to goad Trump into attacking first and putting himself in the wrong in the eyes of much of the world.
Trump will do well to keep his nerve and wait for Kim to make his move, if any.

This is a moment that could define his Presidency.

Here's hoping he makes the right choices.

OK..then we let the CIA do it covertly. After taking billions of taxpayer dollars over the decades, I hope they have that capability by now.

Even North Korea's closest ally, China, will be glad to see Kim Jong eliminated. (Though they will file the obligatory protest)

“Our revolutionary forces are combat-ready to sink a U.S. nuclear powered aircraft carrier that is floating in our bathtub with a single strike," according to North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party’s newspaper, the Rodong Sinmum.

Everything is getting so heated up all round the world it's only a matter of time before someone does start a war, Kim's mouth is one of those things.

NK are pretty pissed off they lost the China coal contract
They want revenge for that and there are no questions in my mind

China don't seem to interested in defending them anymore, let a US ship go hull up and that justifies a strike
The ship sent of to NK waters, new or old, would it be a big loss to the US navy

I feel that we were tumbling down much worse for the last decade. When Syria hit the fan the pieces of the hate has spread worldwide.
You can also say it's in a repair mode by now but it's hard to see because of the momentum of NATO and the former Eastern Bloc.
Trump has inherited the chess board in the middle of dirty, hypocritical game and he seems to resonate with the stringent approach of neocons released out of the bottle.
We could always taste the spice of nationalism in a globalism so it's actually nothing new. Everyone needs to define problems and common goals without hypocrisy and harmful hate. Maybe someone needs to pause the war on petrodollar first to allow the restart of relations without sanctions? We are always one step from war and two steps from a simple sollution.

Lil Kim is a lunatic.

I think the entire world knows this, yet their close neighbors and the United Nations, ignore his dangerous rants and nuclear ambitions. The United Nations is a worthless organization in my view. If nations were truly united to defend against countries that invade, or threaten others, the threat of war would be lessened.

North Korea threatens to strike US aircraft carrier...

Like whats our US armed to the teeth armada doing all the way over there off his shore... picnicking?

No threat posture at all. All he's doing is proclaiming he will defend his country. You think he has precedent?
