Nothing changed really except to make the US appear xenophobic to the rest of the world.

Everything with it's head still far inside Obama needs to be excised like stage 4 cancer. This is a good start

To use a couple of refugee deluged/terrorist infested countries as an example...France, Germany, Belgium, etc. they probably wish they would have thought of it first.
It's time to get over it, there is nothing wrong with any country enforcing its sovereignty and borders.

and executive order isn't exactly a law...
it's more like a memo that is sent to your supervisor stating what is wanted from her, so she figures out how she wants to carry it out and then sends a memo down to you telling you just what part you are going to play in the scheme of things.
the legislature writes the laws, and maybe trumps executive order is in accordance with those laws. but if it wasn't that would be like the ceo of your company sending your supervisor a memo telling them to do such and such, but then she sends you a memo telling you to do things that you know are contrary to what the ceo ordered.

you are actually wrong that authority is by law.

You mean with the activist media frenzy help, hey why not, when Obama did it the media forgot about it.

How nice.

We have always had "extreme" vetting process. What have Trump done that is any different? And why is he not banning those countries that have committed acts of terrorism in the USA?

"xenophobic"

And you wonder why Donald Trump is your new President?

Those of you who have bought into the ideology of promoting "having a discussion" while doing the opposite like beating the hell out of someone while shouting "Love not Hate" have no moral high ground to stand on at the moment!

Before you call someone a name, you might want to take a look in the mirror and actually be brave enough to give your own "ID" an evaluation? Also? Look at how you have abused the meaning of a word for a political agenda to do MORE harm to people who ARE victims of those words!

How are those 7 countries detrimental to the interests of the US? They have committed no acts of terrorism. The other countries have.

Obama's National Security Council named those 7 countries as the highest risk.

They recommended last year to suspend visits from there until a better vetting process could be put in place.

It being an election year, Obama declined.

a EO is just that, a order. it's the boss telling you will do this in this way. she had no standing to say she will disregard his order and tell her subordinates not to defend the EO. there's no figuring out to it. it's done the way it's laid out.

also Executive Orders are legally binding and published in the Federal Register.

Don't you get the feeling that no matter how much you post and try to rectified misinformation seems like nobody is listening, you repeat and repeat and write it down over and over again, still nobody is listening or reading.

I think we need that new thing that is in the net that ask you if you are robot first before you are allowed to post.

interesting argument to go against Trump with.
so it's no different and it's way worse than before.

what a weird world you find yourself in.

you are right Obama did the same thing in 2011.. So it's not really different..

Rhetoric has a very short shelf life.

Truth is like Twinkies. They never die.

So the new norm now is to answer a post with "Obama did it"? I guess it's our fault since we've been saying that Bush did it (even though it's true).

You asked why those countries were chosen.

I just offered an explanation.
