I doubt the code bases it on people standing shoulder to shoulder, packed in. It looked like a good amount of people for the size.

I imagine the local laws are online somewhere.

This is not good

You shouldn't deny the people their entertainment and amusements

It appears the campaign knew the capacity was limited to 1,000 people.

Assistant Columbus Fire Chief Jim Cannell said fire officials met with Trump's staff on Friday to inform them the space they were booking was limited to 1,000 people due to safety concerns. "They knew that was the plan, that it was 1,000 people max," Cannell said.

Hmmm. The amount of people was 3,000 for Hillary and Bernie.

Then why does the source say it's a 72,000 sq. ft. venue that can seat 4,140?

Wait, it seems that Trumps makes this claim all the time. So everybody is mixing up buildings and locations. The Colorado location is the one posted. The Ohio location has the hall under construction limiting space available. Full Renovation and Expansion

It held more for Trump at an earlier rally as well before construction that area started.

Yes, there is some confusion as to which venue/room he rented.

It appears he rented a section of a smaller exhibition hall that was limited to 1,000 people by the FM before the event was held. His campaign knew this and are now using it to play politics.

Ok then, I stand corrected. That explains it. Apparently the source got it wrong.

I really do not think local fire marshals are not allowing "enough" people into Trump events for political reasons. Give me a break. There is this thing called the NFPA. In addition to local fire codes.

In Colorado Springs at UCCS, trumps dumbass campaign handed out 10000 tickets to an event after being told prior only 1500 people could fit inside the venue. What did the school do to help? Set up tons of screens so everybody outside could also watch the speech. They had no obligation to do this but they do.

What did Trump do there? Slam the fire marshal for the problem not his own organizers. Even worse - JUST before said event Trump got stuck in an elevator in a downtown hotel on his way out. Who saved his ass? The fire department. Had him out in less than 5 minutes.

Again, just basic research tells you the halls capacity is 1500 at its largest for a lecture event. 450 for a banquet. So just another lie from Trump. UniversityCente, room and capacity chart

1) Event was not a banquet.

2) Event limited to 1000 people yet has a capacity for 1500.

3) I don't get your math.

Fans?

It's a PRESIDENTIAL campaign, Donald. They aren't "fans". They are voters and supporters.

You are mixing up events. Trumps made this claim at the last two venues once in Colorado and once in Ohio. The Colorado place holds 1500, Trump claimed it should hold more, the Ohio one was in a hall that would normally hold more but was under construction do to an expansion of the entire complex. In both places his staff signed up knowing what they could hold. Trump may have know or not who knows, he never bothers to get any facts.

I would guess what is happening is Trumps campaign is keeping him to smaller venues to avoid the violence at his rallies which has hurt him with Women voters. Trump is likely embarrassed to speaking to small crowds and of course has to try and make it like it is all somebody else fault. It seems fire fighters are his latest target. The man is an idiot.

Trump has a habit of giving out more tickets to his rallies than the venue can handle and then complains about people having to be turned away.

The question we need to ask is if Trump's campaign was willing to pay for the use of the entire room. Considering half the room was blocked-off by drapes, I'd say no. He did not rent the entire room.

I live right by the venue. The venue is HUGE and you have no idea what you're talking about. What else is new?

The fix is in folks.

Keep reading the thread, Bulk. You may find a bit more information you should of had before you made that comment.

Here is an MLG event at the same place. There was easily 5k there. Maybe more.

Your confusing states and venues again. You are talking about Ohio where it did hold more people before most of it was closed off for construction to expand it. And it is easy to get confused because he seems to be starting every speech now bashing the local fire fighters. As if fighting with Veterans groups, the GOP and everybody else was not enough he just has to make another group hate him.

Not exactly, IMO.
I think he's getting the crowds to boo the local fire marshal when he squeezes the venue capacity down - and getting them to cheer the local fire marshal when he lets the largest number of allowable people into the venue.

It's a subtle form of intimidation to fire marshals in cities he hasn't visited yet - do they want to be cheered or booed by the locals?

A few months ago when Trump was in Pittsburgh, the Mayor said that he should pay for the Police overtime because of the protests. Funny thing is that the protesters were Bernie or Hilary supporters and he said nothing about either of them paying for Police when they held rallies.
