originally posted by: XcathdraI don't want war with China, nor Russia, for that matter. However, when those 2 countries continue acting like asshats there comes a point where other nations are going to stand up to Russia and China and say no.

The article simply expresses China's willingness to shoot down American spy planes and unwillingness to stop building in what it considers to be its own territorial waters. The US will not get involved in direct confrontation, but they may support a proxy war on behalf of the Philippines or even Viet Nam.

Maybe if US just f*ked off and stayed home for once there wouldn't be constant conflict and media blitzing everywhere.
Absolutely pathetic they act as world police, but can't even stablaize their own country (I wonder why).
USA has no right to any Asian sea, or tell any other super power what they can or can't do. But again, global puppets and orchastration to keep masses in lower states of mind.
Yes, irony. But I'm sick of it.
Peace will never come trying to police the world while your own country is breaking it's own back.
Focus HOME, stop policing and warring for resources

Why is China wanting to expand its areas and show dominance over others? In the times of hypersonic tools, there is no need for building expensive island airports etc.
China should focus more on internal matters rather than trying to bully small nations in the region.

So China starts conflict, and steals land from other countries, and the US is the bad guy.
So predictable.

China is a world cooperative, they make majority of the things you use daily. They aren't meddling too much in other countries as extreme as US.
Nice downplay, if China stopped making product for US, you wouldn't be bitching about a tiny piece of land.
Alaska, Hawaii come to mind... hypocrisy, the American way.

Pretty sure the reference was to the annexation of Hawaii.
Not sure about Alaska.

Quite a while after it was annexed.
Which voted to become a State.
Not really. There were attempts after the overthrow. But the control didn't really originate from the US government, it was a group of magnates. It really was a pretty sordid affair.
If Hawaii really wanted to it could have left American control.

In any case, relating the global politics of more than 100 years ago to those of today is pretty pointless.
