There is also black or dark red sclera that a lot of people out there like to use either because they like the look (like goths, emos, etc) or for party costumes:

You can buy them online

An interesting thing to also note is that when you are psychotic, your subconscious mind becomes hyperactive. Like dreaming wide-awake. Since the subconscious mind is the part of the brain that treats most of the information without us even noticing, it is what is causing "intuition". Thus when psychotic, you also become superintuitive. To the point it can easily look like you are a psychic, a wizard or a seer (I had fun with this a lot :p)

Problem is the subconscious is also the seat of imaginations and irrational fears, and when psychotic your rational mind that is usually filtering the subconscious is also off.

So you become hyper-intutitive but also you are not able to differentiate what is real from what you project anymore. So most of the time you spout a mix of surprising insights and mere fears/beliefs projected and no one can really tell which is which.

That's actually one of the main problem when working in the occult/psychic. You do sort of gain "psychic powers" (superintuition) but at the cost of more bull# mixed with it too. You can see the illustration of this daily on this site

Intuition works, but when you let psychosis takes root too it then becomes useless because you can't tell anymore the truth from your own fears and beliefs.

It's a huge problem in the esoteric and I find it baffling that most people on ATS who are interested in the supernatural prefer to ignore this part of the equation. You can't really cultivate intution without also cultivating a very strong critical sense at the same time. Otherwise you just end up crazy.

All occult books warn about this actually but most people prefer to ignore it or think they are stronger than that. Yet I can tell you the forum is full of psychotic people just by the way they post and my own personal experience with psychosis.

It wouldn't be so bad if people did not get super defensive when you try to be critical.

Let's also take into account that Brian Bethel, the first to report about "black eyed kids" probably just made it up because he was interested in creTing an urban legend, and gaining readers for the small paper he wrote for.

I think you should muster in one of the meetings, and gather as much information as possible if you come back in contact with the 'old lady'. As a LEO, you have the entitlements to take things up a level, or put it in the hands of a noteworthy detective, or perhaps another agency if need be. But through your writing, I believe you have the wits and characteristics to handle a little bit of it yourself. I too am like you, and if you need help or advice if this area of knowledge; please feel free to contact me. Just send me a peer to peer email on here and we can correspond.

Hebrews 13

2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.

I wouldn't get too worked up over it. The church has its own CT's that base all conspiracy on scripture. Some of them can be a bit uncomfortable to converse with. I'm wondering if she purposefully evaded you when she went out the door. Or if she actually went out the door.

Let's use a bit of reason and logic with this situation.

What are the odds that a senior citizen is going to buy a pair of these to mess with a bunch of people at a church function.

Interesting post OP thanks for sharing.

The OP said nothing about the eye being fully black. Only the iris.

That's why I suggested Mydriasis and someone else mentioned Aniridia.

The post of me you quoted was actually a reply to WakeUpBeer, not the OP

maybe you were under the influence of something bad, spiritually--just as i think this woman in question was/is. definitely out of their mind either way. Glad you're back, though JUhrman. I have a hard time believing you were ever fully off your rocker--just saying you seem pretty darn sane

may the force be with you, OP:

Yeah at best it was just some nutter homeless old lady--at worst it was something else. Either way, don't let it get to you too much. Just keep on focusing on those positive vibes. For the love & the peace you know

Actually I had a psychotic break because of too much conspiracy sites paired with an anxiety disorder and a lack of sleep for almost a week.

I wasn't under the influence of any entity but thanks for sharing your opinion.

Interesting story but I find nothing strange to it. I also would like to stamp on someone's toes if he has the front of the shoe chopped off. It's just a common urge. I guess the dark eyes could be misjudged because of shadow, I don't know. She is probably interested in alternative world views or explanation. You can probably talk to her next time with some coffee and cake. Maybe she even got some interesting info for you, and eventually for us in ATS

If she does appear to you again, we probably won't hear about it because she'll have come to take you to the meeting with "we".
Just kidding, sortof.
But seriously, if you do see her again and she leaves, try not to let her out of your sight and see how long you can follow her. Can you tell us the name of the church or show us a picture of the door so we can try to see for ourselves if there is anywhere she might have disappeared to?

That's not a church my friend, that's a recruiting station. I would practice my beliefs, faith and prayers in private. You might want to quietly council your relative about finding another church. Just saying.

Thank you all for the replies.

The above is what I have thought since the first time I set foot in that building. Many of the people seem "too nice" and they do ask for "tithes" much more enthusiastically than any Catholic church I've been to.

I can probably catch her on camera easily next time, I have no doubt about that, if it is under similar circumstances and I am ready.

What I meant about her eyes is that the middle portion, eyeball as you might call it, the pupil and the colored area around it, were black. Not her whole entire eyes, she had "the whites of her eyes" like a normal person.

I would love to chalk this up to a "crazy old CT lady," and I completely would have, if she had not walked out the door and disappeared. That's what floored me and made me post it here. Otherwise I would have just shrugged my shoulders and probably forgotten about most of the episode by now. Nothing here is as interesting to me with the exception of the woman plainly disappearing into thin air. I did talk to my relative about it today, and we discussed multiple scenarios.

The only possible rational explanation of the disappearance is that there was a car waiting at the door to pick up the woman, and she walked outside, got in the car, and it drove away very quickly. But this was flat land, not even any trees or shrubs nearby, and we think we should have been able to see the car driving away as the front door of the church is at the end of a long dirt driveway, which should have also kicked up dust if a car drove down it. Yesterday was warm, dry, clear weather. For information's sake, the church parking lot is down a slight hill and off to the side by about 40 meters, far too much distance for the woman to have covered in the brief period of time that I was not close behind her, and there was nobody in the parking lot and no cars moving when I got there.

I wrote the first post last night when I was super tired, I had the day off and had been awake for about 18 hours, so I apologize if there are perceived inconsistencies and/or parts missing. I did keep trimming my post so it was within the character count limit for ATS and did not run on into a second post. I have purposefully omitted identifying information and a few more very unique details.

Speaking of details, I wanted to clarify something minor. I was wearing hiking boots with capped toes, meaning an extra firm, protective layer of material that is built into the shoe by design. The toes were not chopped off.

I used to disappear anytime I saw I could make it work. You really don't need any time if you are ok with hiding. If you are just an old women walking to a car, and there are no walls or corners to get around.... That's different.

were you really 15 feet behind her?

That's not really long enough passed a closed door..

Only way to not be in sight when the next person comes through the door is to be around a corner.

This is a cool story. the WE thing though.. I have never liked going inside of churches for some reason. I feel like there is something about the church that is bad. Someone said something about recruitment..

If she isn't a regular person you are not going to see her again. So if you do see her again I do hope you ask her about the name john and about how she got out the door so fast, how you were trying to catch up with her to ask her ______ blank... Show some interest in her, and act like you don't really know why you are interested you just are.. Something curious.

I bet she knew your name, but sometimes that just happens. Sometimes I just know peoples names.

If she is mystical magical in some way... I don't think she got the message out to you she wanted to. And now that you have posted this on ATS. If she was "getting to know" you.. She probably isn't anymore.

Please contact your relative and ask how it came about that she was talking to creepy-lady when you returned from the bathroom. Did creepy-lady walk up and start talking? What were the first words out of her mouth? What were all of the words out of her mouth before you joined the conversation. Do this before the relative's memory has a chance to fade!

Also, how did your relative react, verbally or facially, when creepy-lady said, "here is one smart man. Maybe we need to work with him, bring him to a meeting."

Ask relative what could have possibly prompted creepy-lady to suggest "we" (relative and creepy-lady) about anything to do with you, since it turns out your relative had never met her. And get your relative's gut reaction on what was meant by "bring him to a meeting."

Also I like the idea of a pic of the joint!

Interesting story... I'd be freaked out too!

Now get to investigating and report back, officer! (LoL)

I have seen these black-eyed people many times in my life. Before I knew they were an actual phenom, I referred to them as "dead eyes", and they are maybe the only thing on the planet that truly causes me real, visceral fear. When I was a child I thought they were apparitions, because no one else could seem to see them. I think only certain people can see them...or at least see their true form.

However every time I broke my gaze from her, which was not often as I am experienced in appearing to maintain eye contact while visually checking the area, she would put her foot on mine. I had never met anyone who did that before, and it was very odd, as I was wearing hiking boots with a capped toe, and she was wearing some kind of simple flat shoes. She never changed her facial expression, never said anything, but she would step ever so lightly on my toe.

That is actually the most disturbing thing to me about your entire story. Alpha behavior. Canines do this to humans as a form of dominance; not in an aggressive way, but to claim them and send a clear message to anyone else: "This is mine. No one else can touch this because I claimed it." It is undesirable to allow your dog to put its foot on you because it changes the dynamic to one in which you are not the Alpha. You are not in charge, you do not have control. And that is not something you want to encourage, because it naturally keeps you unbalanced and not in control of your immediate environment, and that is how bad things happen. She had control over you at that point, and she knew it. And if there were others like her in the area, they also knew it.

I don't know what these creatures are, but they are nothing good. That I can say with utter certainty. Be very careful, because it is obvious that she is very bold...showing herself like that in public, and in a church of all places...that is not typical behavior for these things and they are hardly ever alone. They tend to hang together in pairs or threes. If you cross paths with her again, walk immediately to the most populated place you can find, and don't look at her eyes...that's how they get you. Pithed, like a frog on a dissection block. Be careful.

I think this will be my first and one of the very few comments like this.

So you wrote this huge story to tell us about this encounter, but you "Can't remember" about the Blood Moons or anything important. You can go into so much detail but you leave out all the goodies of your conversation with this woman.

I love this story, but it's not true I don't think. And if it IS true, she picked the wrong person to try and reach out too. Send her my way so we can save the world next time, Kay?

I'm not the greatest "reporter" on these forums but I hate it when people # with other people, especially with things like this.

On another note, I have not had what one would call a "conventional paranormal experience" and if it was, I didn't see anything, only felt it. This story really got to me. But aside from our imaginations, you and I seem very different. I guess, technically, if this person was trying to save the world, she WOULD have reached out to you and not me.

Seeing as the skeptic in me can only stand out in my persona for so long. I may have to start going to church, because apparently THAT'S where all the "magical demon" people are. Not sure how else to describe the black-eyed, horror movie type characters.

Sorry for being a douche, just hate people getting my hopes up.

They don't look like those photos at all. It's not just the black sclera and iris. There is an emptiness there...a coldness. If you saw it, you'd understand. Black contacts can resemble them quite a bit from a distance, but up close you'd know the difference. They also have an energy about them that is not human, and cannot be faked.

That is very typical of encounters with them. Most people are so overcome by fear and revulsion that they block out a lot of the particulars of an encounter with these creatures. The thing that will be foremost in the mind will be the absolute wrongness of their appearance, their energy, the flat, inhuman manner of speech, the way that they force you to look at them, even though you really just want to run away from them.

The exact details can easily be lost in the face of something that overwhelming...many "ordinary" traumatic experiences will do this to the human mind as well. Victims of abuse, for instance, often will not remember key details or will remember them out of sequence...one of the things that makes prosecuting cases like that so difficult.
