Contrary to the myths propagated by Britain, the most Catholic regions of Europe - Spain, Portugal, Ireland, southern Italy - were relatively friendly to witches or simply did not believe in them. But Protestant countries, on the contrary, burned witches very actively.

As you can see, in addition to Iberia and Ireland, the fewest witch burnings took place in “backward barbaric Russia.” It seems that the ancestors of the Russians were smarter and more humane than the Europeans even then.

At the same time, the total number of documented executions for witchcraft was not as large as one might think after reading adventure novels - several tens of thousands over several centuries. In addition, there were probably many extrajudicial killings, imprisonments and trials that, for some reason, did not reach the auto-da-fé (the accused were acquitted, or punished under other charges, or they died in custody). On the other hand, there were also acquittals. The accused often asked to be tried by the church, since the church court was, on average, much more humane than the secular one. Perhaps that's what will work out in the end.

In any case, witch hunts during the struggle between Protestants and Catholics in Europe were a noticeable social phenomenon. But still, it is clearly not large enough to seriously affect the demography of European countries. I would like to remind you that, according to another common myth, in Germany all beautiful women were allegedly burned, which is why modern German women on average are not as beautiful as, for example, Slavic women.

Nope. It was information in direct response to your opening post statement. It was very much on topic. And you deflected from it. The information I provided shows that Russia ... in just the 1900s ... mass murdered WAY MORE people than the Germans ever did with burning witches and therefore your opening post statement saying that Russians are smarter and more humane is false.

Address the information I provided in relation and how it shows that the Russians are NOT smarter and more humane. They are just as savage and stupid ... maybe even more so since they slaughtered a hell of a lot more people than the Germans.
