DOHA, Qatar (CNN) -- Islamic militant leader Osama bin Laden, the man the United States considers the prime suspect in last week's terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, denied any role Sunday in the actions believed to have killed thousands.
In a statement issued to the Arabic satellite channel Al Jazeera, based in Qatar, bin Laden said, "The U.S. government has consistently blamed me for being behind every occasion its enemies attack it.
"I would like to assure the world that I did not plan the recent attacks, which seems to have been planned by people for personal reasons," bin Laden's statement said.
"I have been living in the Islamic emirate of Afghanistan and following its leaders' rules. The current leader does not allow me to exercise such operations," bin Laden said.
Asked Sunday if he believed bin Laden's denial, President Bush said, "No question he is the prime suspect. No question about that."

This is where I lose faith in Bush. If there was no question then why is he not listed as being wanted in connection with 9/11 along with the many crimes he actually is listed for being wanted for?

Your presumptuous belief that anyone who doubts your perception of 9-11 must "suffer from a low IQ", is completely arrogant, and utterly ignorant.
You obviously have not the slightest inkling of how guerilla warfare is carried out, nor how its operations are conducted.
You do not need a massive force, vast amounts of technology, nor money, in order to cripple a far superior force (As is the United States of America). Osama Bin Laden, and his cohorts Al-Qaeda, simply planned well, and in the process ran into a bit of good luck on their behalf (Bad Luck on ours).
If you seriously believe that our Government carried out the attacks, then you also have no experience with how a bureaucracy works.
Even the most meticulous, and well thought out plans, often times run into serious problems in their implementation. For Osama Bin Laden to have carried out these attacks, in of itself requires FAR less meticulation and planning than what would have been necessary for our very own government to do the same thing. Al-Qaeda only required training in Airplane Flight, most notably only Take-offs as well, which is the easiest dumb proof aspect of the entire subject; as well as Building schematics, and a set of Group Booked Flights. THAT IS ALL IT TOOK.
If the Government on the other hand planned the 9-11 attacks, the level of planning would have required multiple Agencies, a VAST number of Personnel, and a Perfect, Error Free Execution of Demolitions, Fake Flights, JDAM Level Precision Strike Patterns, Forged Videography and Audio, Fraudulent Story lines with Evidentiary Support,
and MOST notable of ALL, NO LOOSE LIPS.
The idea that 9-11 was executed from within is more absurd than the notion that Apollo 11 never landed on the Lunar Surface. Such moments would have required THOUSANDS of participants in order to even attempt a fluid pull-off, and as anyone who was Government/MIL/ even Corporate Experience knows, you can never have such a large number of involved individuals, and still keep a secret.
If you had any real world experience, you would soon recognize the God awful absurdity behind your claims.
"I have already said that I am not involved in the 11 September attacks in the United States. As a Muslim, I try my best to avoid telling a lie. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider the killing of innocent women, children and other humans as an appreciable act. Islam strictly forbids causing harm to innocent women, children and other people. Such a practice is forbidden even in the course of a battle.
"It is the United States, which is perpetrating every maltreatment on women, children and common people . . . "
Dubai, one of the seven emirates of the Federation of the United Arab Emirates, North-East of Abi-Dhabi. This city, population 350,000, was the backdrop of a secret meeting between Osama bin Laden and the local CIA agent in July. A partner of the administration of the American Hospital in Dubai claims that public enemy number one stayed at this hospital between the 4th and 14th of July.
Having taken off from the Quetta airport in Pakistan, bin Laden was transferred to the hospital upon his arrival at Dubai airport. He was accompanied by his personal physician and faithful lieutenant, who could be Ayman al-Zawahari--but on this sources are not entirely certain--, four bodyguards, as well as a male Algerian nurse, and admitted to the American Hospital, a glass and marble building situated between the Al-Garhoud and Al-Maktoum bridges.
Each floor of the hospital has two "VIP" suites and fifteen rooms. The Saudi billionnaire was admitted to the well-respected urology department run by Teerry Callaway, gallstone and infertility specialist. Dr Callaway declined to respond to our questions despite several phone calls.
As early as March, 2000, 'Asia Week,' published in Hong Kong, expressed concern for bin Laden's health, describing a serious medical problem that could put his life in danger because of "a kidney infection that is propagating itself to the liver and requires specialized treatment".
According to authorized sources, bin Laden had mobile dialysis equipment shipped to his hideout in Kandahar in the first part of 2000. According to our sources, bin Laden's "travels for health reasons" have taken place before. Between 1996 and 1998, bin Laden made several trips to Dubai on business.
On September 27th, 15 days after the World Trade Center attacks, at the request of the United States, the Central Bank of the Arab Emirates announced an order to freeze assts and investments of 26 people or organisations suspected of mainting contact with bin Laden's organization, and in particular at the Dubai Islamic Bank.
. . . . .
While he was hospitalised, bin Laden received visits from many members of his family as well as prominent Saudis and Emiratis. During the hospital stay, the local CIA agent, known to many in Dubai, was seen taking the main elevator of the hospital to go to bin Laden's hospital room.
A few days later, the CIA man bragged to a few friends about having visited bin Laden. Authorised sources say that on July 15th, the day after bin Laden returned to Quetta, the CIA agent was called back to headquarters.
. . . . . .
The contacts between the CIA and Bin Laden go back to 1979 when he was his family's business agent in Istanbul. That is where he began recruiting Arab or Muslim volunteers for the Afghan resistance against the Red Army. During their investigation into the attacks of August 1998 against the American embassies of Nairobi (Kenya) and Dares-Salaam (Tanzania), the FBI discovered that the chemical signatures left by the explosives used in these terrorist attacks were standard issue US explosives. Explosives which had been delivered three years earlier to the well known Afghan volunteer resistance fighting alongside Osama Bin Laden during the war of Afghanistan against the Soviet army.
Continuing its investigations, the FBI further discovered various "schemes and deals" which the CIA and its "Islamist friends" have devised and collaborated on for many years. Thus one may conclude that the Dubaï meeting is but the logical continuation of an "opaque and nebulous American policy".

The newspaper says it submitted questions for bin Laden to Taliban officials and received written replies.
"We are against the American system but not the American people. Islam does not allow killing of innocent people, men, women and children even in the event of war."
