Well it looks like it's going to happen in my state!

Legislators in Connecticut are expressing concern over the low number of gun owners who registered now banned semi-automatic rifles, prompting some groups to push for confiscating previously legal firearms from as many as 100,000 residents.

According to recent reports, only about 50,000 so-called "assault weapons" were registered with Connecticut law enforcement to comply with new laws enacted shortly after the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting. Some indicate that's about 15 percent of the number of now banned semi-automatic rifles in the state.

The letter is real, a couple of my friends received it.

Open letter to the lawful gun owners of Connecticut

My name is Col. Reaper, Commanding Officer of the Arizona State Militia.

Few of you may know who we are, rest assured this is not mutual. Here in Arizona we are very aware of the very real and present danger you currently face. Never before has the constitution been so grievously offended by those sworn to uphold its guaranteed liberties. Unfortunately you our brothers and sisters of Connecticut find yourselves involved in what appears to be a cold civil-war at the hands of those elected to protect you. In one foul swoop, once law abiding citizens found themselves threatened with felony prosecution and imprisonment for simply embracing a guaranteed liberty. In keeping with America’s tradition of rebellion it is estimated that 100,000 owners of restricted firearms have refused to register in accordance with a new tyrannical law that usurps the intent of our founding documents.

I saw an open letter posted on Facebook urging the Connecticut cops not to take part in confiscation raids. There was a veiled threat attached to it.

I saw something on a site that is less than reputable saying that DHS was going to be involved in the confiscation raids.

Rather than acknowledge that this gun registration was an illegitimate and misguided law as evidenced by the mass non-compliance, some are actually calling for the mass round up of these individuals:

State Can't Let Gun Scofflaws Off Hook.

At this point, the gun grabbers need to realize that they lost this one. Leave it alone.

People have drawn a line in the sand.

I hope they dont try to force the issue.

My daughter is 19 years old and owns .22 cal Rifle, because it hold 10 rounds ,it is considered an assault rifle and must be registered. She is also a certified instructor at the gun club to teach teens in the safe use of .22 cal Rifles.

Gun confiscation is coming to us all no matter where we live.

Perhaps that is what all the Mrap purchases was all about.

Perhaps that is what all the government ammo purchases was all about.

There is ABSOlUTELY no gun control law needed.

NONE.

Because we ALREADY have laws against the harming/murdering of another person.

What they are selling is fascism.

What they are selling is a false sense of security.

'Those who trade 'safety' for 'security' will soon find themselves as having NEITHER.

Geezus look at what they are calling 'assault weapons' ! ! !

The most dangerous assault weapon there is are lawmakers.

The most dangerous weapon of mass destruction is government.

It is truly astonishing how many people choose to give up their civil liberties to idiotic lawmakers.

Thinking they actually give a crap about 'people'.

What they are selling is the police state.

The last step in ORWELL gone wild.

Does the state know who owns these guns? If so then what is the point of registration?

If and when this confiscation starts, I expect to see news reports about piles of dead cops in the streets.

Only then will freedom reign.

"Their" full agenda cannot be accomplished until the American people are disarmed and left helpless. Connecticut is the trial scenario. Once that is accomplished We, The People, become subjects rather than citizens.

Woe to We, The People, if Hillary ever takes the presidency. She is a very strong supporter of UN authority (and we all know what they want to do about our guns) and in 2006 she was one of 16 Senators who voted against the 2006 Vitter Amendment, which prohibits the funding of the confiscation of lawfully-held firearms during a disaster/"disaster".

Certain weapons like ar-15, ak-47 when bought have to be registered when brought to the state...but their are many more magazines and weapons that did not have to be registered. But if bought at a gun store the bill of sale went to the state. That's what they are going after. We are talking about 150000 people plus !

I kept hearing from the progressives....'Don't be silly, no one wants to take your guns away from you.'

They have even mentioned the fact that they couldn't get any bans passed after Sandy Hook, so gun owners were paranoid if they think the government wants to take their guns.

Yeah, who is paranoid?

Does anyone remember what happened, concomitant with the rise of the automobile?

The horse was roped in, tethered, by the man with vision.

Cars, you see, were here to stay.

Can anyone envision what will be hunted, with the day of the condor?

I can.

And the gun control folks counter with nonsense like:

"Nobody is taking their guns. They have options to disable them, sell them, or turn them in."

And if that doesnt work they fall back on:

"But those weapons are illegal to have!"

Completely ignoring the fact that they werent until their gun control laws suddenly made them so.

And of course:

"Those people are all felons and felons cant own guns!"

Of course they are only "felons" in the bureaucratic sense thanks to the gun control laws.

There is no reasoning with these people and pointing out their blatant lies like "registration does not lead to confiscation" doesnt accomplish anything because they know they're full of # and don't care if they lie 24/7 because their endgame is disarmament. Extremists one and all.

Well, maybe in CT we will see how many "from my cold dead hands" actually meant it !

I can see it going either way but if there is armed resistance then I would not be surprised with a few people from other states coming to aid the defenders..

Unless I misjudge the CT fortitude there will be a few incidences maybe but most will fold when faced with armed marshals...

More people seem to say they have had enough knee jerk politicians... Talk is cheap so we will see...

But I can not see the government backing down without strong resistance ..... Shame there are not smarter people in government... Or maybe they are very smart and feel they are ready to test the waters ?

Time for a rash of "lost my guns in a boating accident" calls and finding a good cache spot. Your statement of the progressive 'Don't be silly, no one wants to take your guns away from you' brought this to mind.

In NY we have until April 15th to have any "assault weapons" registered and have any high cap magazines (+10 rounds) turned in, sold out of state or destroyed.

I can tell you as a FACT that the talking heads in Albany will be VERY VERY disappointed to see a miniscule number of said firearms registered.

And when they, whoever "they" are, kick your door in and discover an unregistered assault weapon, that gives them all the motivation they need to take ANY gun they want.

It's going to be an ugly summer in NY and CT.
