Hi Guys,

Fresh on the heels of last week's segment on Jack Parsons and the occult roots of the space program, we are diving headfirst into the strange sexual practices involved in his Babalon Working/Moon Child ceremony and his relationship with L. Ron Hubbard. Last week's conversation was an enlightening look at the different viewpoints of Parsons' work, from apocalyptic to angelic. Here's an interesting quote I came across in the book "Magia Sexualis: Sex, Magic, and Liberation in Modern Western Esotericism" by Hugh B. Urban (recommended for anyone looking for a light read):

"Many admirers of Parsons suggest that "His Babalon Working may have had some real-world effects, that it had served to "crack open the Apocalyptic gateway and activate the cult forces necessary for the upheaval of consciousness," as we see in the increasing chaos of war, disease, famine, and terrorism in the late twentieth century."

Interesting stuff to say the very least. And here's a good conversation starter for this week: For all of the hoopla surrounding Hubbard and Scientology, it's shocking that his documented performance of sex magick (spelled with a "k" to differentiate from card tricks) rituals is so rarely touched upon by opponents of his agenda--why do you guys think that is? Looking forward to another rousing discussion.

Bye TV,

Josh LeCash

I gave you a star because that made me chuckle out loud. Other than that.....I honestly don't know what to say about Outer Space Sex Magic. It seemed ok to me until they started talking about 9 months of rituals blah blah blah. Children need mentally stable parents and 9 months of that would make anyone a little nutty I would think. Sooooo it is my opinion that no one should attempt this lol.

Purty good editing of interviews and content, LeCash, purty good. I think that's about as close to a short explanation of Jack & the "working" as can be had. Robert Anton Wilson was as shrewed as always. RIP, RAW.

What you say is true about children (I believe) but this is History a history that is not known the OP is not advocating it only reporting it. Something I think would severely stun middle America let alone the Bible belt...

More like under the earth space, and our corrupt royal families and leadership, and Vrill, than outer space or anything to do with real ETS.

Perfectly wonderful, more public awareness of this fine man and his dreams and visions. Nice work Josh! Since last weeks vid I've reread Parson's "Freedom is a Two Edged Sword" (with both you and the "wink" driving me forward to reread it) and I still see it as a celebration of freedom and liberty and light, calling forth the strength of women (which he wanted to "rise up") and bringing with that strength and calling to it strong men to walk with them as companions. Parsons was lucky to have such interesting people in his life - Cameron at the top of that esteemed list.

Thank you for the two vids, and I really think a major film will be made of Parsons' life some day soon. And it's great you got Heinlein and Bradbury in the mix, two folks from some of our own pasts. All around good job.

This is a very interesting topic thx!
S&F

I've read a lot on this, it is a practice since apparently of the Greek Gods & has never stopped, it's just more discreet. I have an Antique Book of Shadows in pristine condition written by a Richard Parsons but it's a 1st edition with it's 1st release was 1959 so not likely the same guy using an Alias.
Believe it or not, I bought it for 10 cents in 2000 at a Roman Catholic Church Rummage sale way up North in Canada, near Churchill Manitoba.
I've always wondered if it belonged to the Church rather than a donation as it is amazing how pristine it is.
I've only ever read the table of contents though, in which oddly enough, 80% of the Rites listed begin, " Sex Ritual for-------."
I bought it for it's antique quality, but NOW I'm tempted to take it out & read it lol!

I only partially understood all this .

I don't doubt the magic might actually work, but the idea of a moon child is, well, restarded. Masturbating onto a rock or tablet is bizarre. I guess I'm just not getting the connection with this and UfO's. Unless the whole UFO,abduction phenomenon is a cover for what really are demons entering our world. The alien agenda is always going on about being our real creators instead of God. They're gonna fix our planet, be our saviours, you know the rest.

Not trying to get all Christian here but pointing out all this is very anti- Christian. So who's team are they on really?

Reminds me of the chronicles of war john. (Ex-member)

The intercourse between spirit and soul can seem like a extraterrestrial or inter-dimensional encounter, especially if one sees themselves as seperate from the whole/universe.

I wonder if replacing the rock or tablet with a keyboard might give better results?

Can but try

On second thought, no....... otherwise there would be moon children everywhere!

Well done people and with new information also!
It seems that this was a precursor to the free love movement of the sixties and altho the rituals were a very strange and weird thing to have practiced , the sixties were a very strange and weird time also .
I believe that the sixties opened the flood gate between dimensions (or a certain dimension) to all kinds of contacts (think Jimi Hedrix or the Grateful Dead).

Josh,

That was a really sweet follow-up, that's a very elegant little pair of videos that you've produced there. While you are in the neighborhood you might pop over to Laurel Canyon, it's really weird over there.

As far as your OP goes...

I don't agree with that: 1: What the hell is a "cult force"? and 2: The only "cultic gateway of apocalyptic destruction" that increases war, famine and the rest of that laundry list is us.

As far as Hubbard and Scientology, sure, there is likely some sort of conspiracy amongst someone to prune Hubbard's past for public consumption.

I live right next to Laurel Canyon. Have been to a party at Harry Houdini's old house (supposedly its haunted / a lot of trap doors) really cool spot.

What else around there you think I should check out???
