So no...it really doesn't sound better, though I wish it did. There are financial constraints everywhere. The Canadian Dollar is worth more as well. It really does limit my opportunity to travel.

But that's exactly what Gordi has said...my £1,000 equates to $1,700 in just 4 months for stuff just lying around which really doesn't make me smile anymore, surplus to my requirements, or just plain not needed. One mans rubbish is another mans treasure.

No biggie. We have people who cruise around in pick up trucks earning a living through picking up others scrap metal. You do what ya have to do. Those guys actually make a decent living if they play their cards right.

It has gotten so bad here though, that the State is starting to think about issuing licenses to them, because it generates revenue.

Medical and auto repair bills can be a crusher at times. That's why I always tell the youngins' to Save, save, and then save some more. But they never listen. It befuddles me why some people can't learn from others mistakes.

They're not scrap metal haulers...they're dumpster divers so to speak. They just cruise the neighborhoods looking for metal or decent wood to resell.

I have nothing against them, if they can make a living off of others trash...more power to them I say.
