We are all aware of the serious financial problems western nations face, especially here in the U.S. of A -- debt ceilings, quantitative easing, Soros put options. All signs point to a major meltdown that will make the Great Depression look like a walk through Disney Land. The doom and gloom of "The Great Collapse" has been proselytized by many well respected experts who see it as a forgone conclusion, not an "if" but a "when". I too believed that the house of cards would eventually come crumbling down in one great, fell swoop. That one day all the dollars in my bank would be gone, and I would be reduced to the silver bits stored in the safe in my closet. I don't believe this anymore, that is not to say that the economy is good and getting better, or that greener pastures lie ahead. Quite the contrary, I see a steady decline on the horizon, a prolonged destruction of the middle class, but by the time that occurs we will all be dead and buried, and the future generation will have no remembrance of what the past was like when the average Joe & Joanne could provide a house with a yard for their family, food in the fridge and a car in the garage. Those memories are already beginning to slip.

Now certainly there are those who will vehemently disagree, with plenty of facts, tables and statistics to back up the experts' claims that yes indeed the "Global Meltdown" is coming, and unless you have plenty of gold, guns, and storable food than there's no hope for survival. But then I ask who benefits? How is a global financial meltdown beneficial to those who currently hold power, to the rulers of the world who have controlled the purse strings for centuries? Why would they allow all they've worked so hard for to slip through their fingers. "They" wouldn't.

"They", the powers that be, the global elite, call them what you will, but They have us right were they want us -- divided, bickering, petty, worshipping false idols on tv, and ultimately complacent. No matter what revelations comes to pass, whether it's NSA spying or illegal wars, we don't lift a finger to do anything about it. Some try, raise their voices and make a stink, blow the whistle, but at the end of the day nothing happens, and the majority is okay with that. Our government is openly corrupt, bankers are stealing our wealth, oh well. Nothing is done. Why oh why would They want to change the status quo? Everything seems to be working out just fine.

What would happen in the event of a global financial meltdown? Chaos. And here's the thing with chaos, the outcome is unpredictable. If America goes the way of the Weimar Republic then there's going to be some serious regime change happening here at home, and Soros is going to find the Bubba Liberation Front knocking on his front door with an AR and a death warrant, same goes for the globalist goons on Wall Street and their cronies in Washington. The one-percenters know this. History has proven that They are cold and calculating, spending decades, sometimes the better part of a century to achieve their goals (see the EU). Why risk the quick finish over the slow burn? Chaos may beget more power, but could ultimately lead to destruction, that's a gamble I don't think any of them are willing to make.

It is my belief that the "Global Collapse" is not a fear, but a pipe-dream, similar to Tyler Durden in Fight Club bringing down all the financial institutions to reset everyone back to zero. No more personal debt, no more slavery to the banks. We want the system to come crashing down so we can retake it for ourselves. We revel in the doom-porn, scoff at stock prices while counting our survival supplies, waiting. The bills are piling up but maybe, just maybe, tomorrow I won't have to pay them because the whole world has come crashing down. They will never allow this to happen. Life will go on, it will trudge ahead into further poverty and decay at a pace that no one will really notice until it's too late. And by then, everything we know will be forgotten, our civilization will be looked back upon as a modern Sodom and Gomorrah, a cautionary tale to the future downtrodden that freedom and self-reliance is unsustainable.

Cheers.

Mods: I know this could be classified as a Rant, or be placed in Skunk Works since it's an opinion piece, but I opted to poke the bear by dropping it in the Global Meltdown forum -- move if necessary.

Because they want to reduce the world's population down to less than a billion. After all, they will be safe and sound in their underground bunkers while the rest of us, or enough of us, die due to whatever.

Sure, the ol' underground bunker scenario where the elite wait for the plebes to wipe themselves out in a nuclear holocaust so they can arise to what? An irradiated world of rubble? I don't think so.

Who said anything about nuclear holocaust. I gave a reference for you to read and hopefully digest. That thread has other great resources within it from many posters. No one wants a nuclear holocaust. Please at least read the offered material before replying.

I had a friend that had a hard time wrapping his head around what I am about to say............. The PTB at the top could care less if everything crashes ya wanna know why ? They would still be at the top but with a heck of a lot less people to have to worry about.

Also when the dollar crashes the ripples will span the earth. How do I know it will crash.....Past history. No one in the past who printed this much money made it. Inflation will come in a real way in the next few years. That is what will happen and there is no way to stop it.

Here is the problem dear.

Sure, the market is based on confidence so if everyone agrees to have confidence in nothing in order to pretend a while longer and hopefully be dead and buried before people realize that it takes something tangible to sustain life, rather than simply "confidence" this is wonderful.

But then, if you prefer that scenario, exactly what legacy are you leaving your children and grandchildren?

Its about time we face up to quite a few facts, feel the burn, and then face a future that involves tangibles rather than air.

Sorry, replace nuclear with [insert disaster]. This isn't a thread to discuss some mole theory where the elites are waiting underground for the passing of some great surface calamity. I'm talking economics, not ecology. I'm aware of the depopulation agenda, I just don't think it's going to come under the guise of a financial collapse. Obviously you don't either.

But if everything crashes, They risk losing all. It's not that I have a hard time "wrapping my head around it", it's just a belief that nothing is left to circumstance, especially when it comes to the finances of the uber-rich.

They may lose money, as everyone would. But the land and resources, the things we need will still " belong" to them.

As well as the military.. the stockpiled ammo and food.

When the majority is starving.. guess who controls that stockpiled food?

Make no mistake.. they may lose some control but nowhere near all of it.

Just a sad fact... if it were to happen.

The only dear is my wife and my family, and oh no, 8 random bankers killed themselves -- this is surely a sign that calamity is to come! The time to take a good hard look has come and gone, we already know where this train is heading. We hang our hopes on some great correction, a leveling of the playing field that castrates the powerful while empowering us, the silent, working majority. Not going to happen, the train keeps moving.

Many cannot think beyond wealth, and wealth is a matter of who you are speaking to what that is.

For the elite, they like power and control, they are actually addicted to it many, others are just work addicts, they cannot stop.

With wealth, comes power and control. This is what they crave. They are, and have been, spending a few years now figuring out the power and control bit and placing themselves just so, for when this monetary system collapses.

Sorry, its 13 plus one journalist. the crash of '29 there was 20 immediately following the crash, with 100 more to follow in the next year.

we have 13, so far, in absence of any crash...and in the wake of scandals so large they top anything known in history.... what does that say do you suppose?

You do realize that it takes very little to derail a train, right?

They will never risk losing anything. They've worked too hard to gain all they have, and again, everyone here seems to be missing the point that the majority is weak, controlled, and easily manipulated. As long as They stay the course, They'll have everything they want in a few generations. Why push the envelope and risk losing everything?

The above said, we need to position ourselves, rather than playing a game whose rules are set by others. Our position, and our reaction, is more than just important.

I believe that if people stop playing the game, and don't beg for the beast to be fed, we people of the human race can come out of this very well.... through barter, trade of goods etc. We don't need anything but one another, and if we can have confidence in ourselves, rather than a game set by others, we can all live well.

If it ever happens.. just keep repeating to yourself "this is not happening" all the way to the fema care camp.

Sacrifices are made everyday for the greater plan.. always have been.. always will be.
