If I'm wrong, the science is too.
I didn't make it up.
You're greatly under-informed and consequently, misinformed. The science does NOT say "the problem" is just (or even mainly) red meat. We're
bombarding ALL our foods with chemicals and gawdknowswhat else - these environmental alterations and perturbations can have HUGE effects on any
protein, causing it to take on a disease-causing shape and become infectious. Think factory farms - for chicken, hogs, fish and more not just beef and
fields of mono-crops, GMO foods, more. Agricultural industries run on chemicals like cars run on gas.
Again, virtually any protein can misfold into an infectious disease-causing form - including plant proteins. And fyi - a lot of prion formation
originates in the human body itself (referred to as "sporadic"). Also, Mad Cow is not the
only prion disease - looks like there are hundreds.
And new ones appearing with regularity.
....prions are more loosely defined by their ability to catalytically convert other native state
versions of the same protein to an infectious conformational state. It is in this latter sense that they can be viewed as epigenetic agents
capable of inducing a phenotypic change without a modification of the genome.
