Something Strange in Southern Maryland

Here where I live something strange is going on.

I got a call from my fiance that our coworker is stuck at the 235 & rt 4(which eventually becomes Pennsylvania Ave...yes that pennsylvania ave) and that traffic is stopped in all directions, police are at the scene and no one is being allowed to go. This is a very large intersection and reports are that there is no accident at all. This is strange to me, as I am not able to find any reports of what is going on at all.
