I wasn't really sure if I was right to confess or not, part of me was thinking I would spoil the fun and part of me was thinking it's the right thing to do. I still don't know what I should have done but Oh well, it's out there now.

Dont make me jealous

I used to race motorcycles.. Cant even ride them now...

Still cant get myself to get rid of my race bike though. It doesnt help that anyone who has come to look at it has zero experience with a "serious" bike (about 180 hp on a bare frame, essentially).

It weighs a bit less than 400 lbs wet too

Its a very, very serious piece of machinery.. And, that is 180 to the rear wheel (the engine is making a bit more). A bit of drivetrain loss!

Does 0-100km at just a smidge over 1 second (something like 1.2-1.3). Dunno top speed, as I stop looking down at about 75 mph.

Best part is that its a 600cc bike. Great fun with that! Love it when someone pulls up a larger displacement, thinking its "just a 600." By the end of third gear, even slightly modified liter bikes are a speck in my mirror!

And the buyers wonder why I ask them if they have experience racing... One guy even asked me "Why does it matter, its just a 600cc bike?"

The one guy that DID have respect for it, I let him ride it. He came back white as a sheet, said "Thanks", got in his car and didnt call back.

I miss riding.. A lot..

To improve your riding skills, I STRONGLY suggest trIAls riding. It can be done on a motorcycle, but I think its easier on a bike. Can be done on any bicycle!

I smashed myself up pretty bad in 1984, damn near 4 months in hospital, 17 breaks to my legs, snapped both thighs and various sundry injuries, my dad asked me what it would take to motivate me to get home in time for Christmas.

The first time out I bottled it on the crest of a hill, there I was, front wheel over the top, back wheel hanging, engine stalled, and me not able to bend my leg enough to reach the kick start.
