I have been lurking for 2 years, signed on 1 year ago today and am finally asking to join the family.

I know I have some things to learn and I don't know that I need to be adopted, but a couple of helpful aunties and uncles could
ease this transition.


Hi! I am Carla and I was directed here a couple of years ago by "suggested reading" on a site that I completely respected and learned from. (You are still here...a font of wisdom)
I am not going to bore you too much with my story, we learn lots of bits as time goes on.

I just want to say that I promise to:
*Always respect others' opinions and look for answers in different perspectives.
*Keep my mouth shut if I don't know what I am talking about.
*be respectful and courteous at all times.
*Not be too hurt if some troll tries to brake me to bits.
*Report any news that may effect my fellow siblings..everyone.
*Take constructive criticism as it is, constructive.

This place here is a rare treasure. I have been wandering around here for a couple of years. There is a brilliance, and comedy, and searching that is sincere and kind. I am addicted! You people make me laugh, cry, shake my head in disgust and challenge me to think harder.

Thanks all! It is my b-day today and my kids made me cake. (I made cake and cleaned up a gigantic mess) They sang to me and it was beautiful! My present to myself was opening up myself here. For the curious...I am a woman with a colorful array of friends. Diversity makes for an interesting and beautiful world.

Well this is the best intro thread I've seen here.

Welcome, hello, and happy birthday. I think anyone who plays well here seldom thinks that there are people reading their posts besides the folks on the thread. Apparently lots of people watch, like spectators, or, I don't know what it is. When I came here, and I have no memory of why I did, it was an eyesore. So many ads, I never ever stayed around anywhere on the net to read things which have so many ads, I'm always in and out of those sites quickly. But here for some reason I read something, but was so distracted while reading it that I signed up with a user name immediately, a user name I use elsewhere, and very soon started to post. So I didn't lurk at all, and got to recognize the people here with their full avatars from the start. It's a good place to learn, share, and often to play while not losing track of a thread's original purpose. And the original purpose of this one is: Happy Birthday to You!

This is a wonderful introduction. I am glad I got to read it.

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome! I look forward to some great interactions.
