Hi all.

Long time since I have been on here, but wanted to share this video I just came across today. It shows just how easy it is to fake a UFO video with quite simple programs, very quickly. Apparently, this guy has something against thirdphaseofmoon as he states in the description of the video "Do NOT trust thirdphaseofmoon".

Either way, a very interesting video that makes me look at every UFO video with a grain of salt now

how sad. Everybody wants a little piece of fame nowadays. Just makes my job as a believer, that much more difficult.

You're becoming a skeptic! Come to the dark side. We don't believe anything, and want proof of everything because we don't want to be suckered. Then if (or when) the "real thing" shows up, there will be no doubt.

Open your mind. See the obvious failings of lousy UFO reports and images!

So they've been doing this for thousands of years...bet they faked those rock drawings as well. Why doesn't someone make a vid exposing them? And then there's all those ancient texts, these hoaxers been around for awhile eh?
Hmmm, Ladies can fake orgasms as well, does that make all of them fake? ...I think not. Wakey wakey...

Who exactly do you think "they" are? Don't fall into the trap. Don't simply assume that because we don't know where something came from, or what a particular piece of artwork is supposed to represent, that it means ALIENS. That's the easiest trap to fall into, equating UNKNOWN with ALIENS.

Get comfortable with saying "I don't know." It's okay. We can't know everything.

I'm not saying ALL UFO video's are fake. Was just trying to point out how easy it apparently is to do it.

But you're right.... all those cave paintings make you think. Especially the engineering that went on back in those days; where they could make walls without mortar whereby they fit that perfect, you can't even fit a sheet of paper between them... and they still stand to this day! That's some crazy #.

But why, oh, why aren't engineers and architects of this age staggered by it and bringing it to everyone's attention and saying that we couldn't even do that sort of thing today?

Even all these cave drawings of aliens heads and rocket ships don't seem to raise eyebrows. It's weird.

its that small percentage of ufo's that CANNOT be explained that interest me, the rest is just junk as far as I am concerned.

That video is an obvious hoax. CGI was used to simulate faking a real UFO encounter.

As is often stated, just because something looks like and alien head or a rocket ship to us, from our modern perspective, doesn't mean that the ancient artist was trying to represent that. They generally weren't going for verisimilitude. Most heads with big black eyes are meant to represent skulls or dead people, or something else. Who knows?

You know, us modern folk didn't even start to equate those big-eyed guys with aliens until recently. It used to be that the popular depictions of aliens featured tentacles and eyes on stalks, like in War of the Worlds. So even our modern perceptions and expectations change through time. Hard to tell what the ancient artists were trying to depict. That's why you need to listen to the experts, and not the armchair theorists.

I see where you're coming from.... but it's all the ancient structures that baffle me. Even the experts say that we could not do that sort of engineering today, even with our modern tools and lifting equipment. There is a lot more to it than meets the eye. I just cannot explain how they were able to pull off that sort of thing on such a grand scale, when we can't even do it today.

Again, just because we don't know how something was done, doesn't mean aliens did it. Human beings haven't changed all that much in the last 10,000 years. There were geniuses then, too. There were Einsteins who put their brainpower to moving big rocks. If we could ask Imhotep, for instance, he'd be able to tell you just how it could be done.

Well, in the same vein, I suppose we could just save a step and say we don't know how it was done, full stop.

Exactly. No shame in that. No need to invent things. We can hypothesize, of course. But if at the end of the day we just don't know how something was done, we just admit it, and wait for new data to emerge (if any). We can't know everything.

Hilarious..I could tell it was a fake right away it is so bad. This is ridiculous of how this subject has no common sense with it at all.
One of the worst videos that shows a fake video ever that everyone should all ready know it is a fake to begin with ever!!

I bet the title gave it away that it was fake, right?

And it doesn't take some unholy sum of cash buying stuff like Maya, Max, C4D, Premiere, After Effects, Sony Vegas, etc... (Not that they're bad. Just too expensive for most people.)

Nawp... This on it's own could get you started, all for the cost of the few minutes it takes to download: www.blender.org...

Not only does Blender render, but it has the compositor for green screen keying stuff and motion tracking. And don't let the fact that it's available for free fool you, it doesn't lack much in quality and can do pro-level work.

Regardless if you use the most expensive suite or a free one, it still takes a good deal of time to learn the software to the point of creating anything convincing, and you still have to be fairly persistent to do the work (making sure there aren't any glaring errors like obvious polygons, shading glitches, or lighting inconsistency), and patient to wait for all the animation frames to render (which can be over a minute each if the quality is high enough, then multiply that by 30FPS and however many minutes of footage.)

No, I haven't pulled any UFO hoaxes. But since 3D modeling and rendering is one of my hobbies, it's likely I know people that could or even have. (Just some acquaintances through internet forums. A few of which appear to be here at ATS too.) There are people that have the talent, and some are willing to put in a bit of work doing that kind of thing just for their own amusement.

We should also know that just because people can fake UFO's, doesn't mean that they don't exist.
