I haven't seen this object talked about elsewhere...so here goes:

In a Gigapan photo constructed impreprex of Curiosity Rover photos on sol 107 / 109:

www.gigapan.com... ,

there is an object wedged between two boulders in the lower right portion of the photo. This object is very clear on this hi-res photo and appears to be purposely tucked under these rocks. It is a white, perfectly formed:
1. Coffee Mug or
2. A ceramic - type plant pot.

When one looks at this object in relation to the photo, it is startling.

Looking for answers, speculation, discussion
Thanks
J White

I'm not real good at this stuff, but I can't find it either. I don't know the OP's definition of a rock, to a boulder, and there are a heck of a lot of rocks in that picture.

OP, can you circle the area or something, to help us?

Whenever I look at the pictures from Mars, all I can see is a wasteland, total desolation.

Why would there be ANY kind of item/creature/bone-structure to be found in this? Do you even consider the environment and the surrounding area?

There is nothing there to subsidize any macroscopic kind of life!

How could there be anything like a lizard or such without any traces of vegetation, small animals/insects (or their traces) or anything which is even in the hottest and most dry deserts of Earth to be found?

Not enough pictures? Pu-leease..

Hi, I cant see what you can, Ive scanned the picture but cant see it ... are you able to be more precise with its location?

What I did notice is a rock that seems to be airbrushed out .... by the grey boulder, half way up the far righthand side ... the "rock" next to it is not clear like the rest of the pictue

Yeah, maybe I'm blind, but I see nothing, and I'm not going to keep scrolling the damned thing.

It is obvious that the mating of the two boulders has produced an albino baby rock, they are clearly shielding it from the harsh sunlight.

edit on 4-2-2014 by Cynic because: (no reason given)

I looked for a while, then felt like I was playing 'Where's Waldo' and gave up.

I can't see a mug anywhere, but zooming in and scrolling around I've seen a unicorn's horn, an alien's elbow, a skull, a thylacine's arse, a martian turd, a miniature pyramid, a shoe, an elephant's ear, a blowfish, a sear turtle, a wizard's staff, a whale vertebrae, a great white's tooth, and that's just in the bottom right of the picture.

Whatever happened on Mars must've been pretty bad.

If it has feathers, a broad flat beak, webbed feet, hangs out in your local pond and goes "quack" it's probably a duck. just like this picture of rocks probably just contains rocks.

Didn't find the coffee cup but, I found a dessicated hand with long fingernails on the lower left and a raccoon middle right. Then of course the lizard vertebrae, perfectly square sheet metal, statuary fragments, etc. I don't know what sort of civilization was there all those eons ago but something or someone definitely cleaned their clock, planet wide destruction.

Whenever I look at these scans I feel a little sad. Who were they? What did they look like? How did this happen to them?

We can send all the machines to explore, over and over, but until we actually send a human being to explore we'll never know.

Thank you for your participation. This is the location of the mug. It is only on this hi res composite it can be seen and at maximum closeup:

Until I can get the portion of the picture that has this object copied onto this page, please locate the Mars Science Lab logo below the photo, go straight up into the photo from the right edge of this logo to the first rock sitting ontop another...there is a triangle of shadow...this is where the object is.

I don't see it. Did I capture it in this pic? If so, maybe you can be more descriptive....
