Dr. Courtney Brown predicts a "world-changing event" in Feb 2014

He will be 100% right this time. Why? He will wait until February is over, pick out an event that fits his 'could be anything' prediction, then sat "See! I was right!"

Well no, not really. He defined the terms: it has to be "world changing", and it has to be something that has baffled humanity "for centuries" (or was it millenia?).
So, if anything, I think the odds for his announcement - IF it comes- to be perceived as successful or "right" are closer to nil. Because, unless it is something HUGE, in that it is relevant to ALL humanity (which I doubt very much), it is going to be perceived as a flop or as a letdown. And that includes my personal suspicion that it has to do with remote viewing, as per their website. Heck, even "disclosure" of extraterrestrial life could be seen as less than "world changing", if you think about it.
(Because it wouldn't really change anything of consequence to our main existential concerns.)

In my somewhat high-level, or superficial knowledge, of the early Sumerian clay tablet stories, it first told of our real creators. Off-world creatures who needed some muscle to mine gold, so they created early humans, by something akin to artificial insemination, using existing earth beasts.

While this is a seemingly a fantastical mythology, it does perhaps explain the "missing link". Plus, evidence of strip mining that is perhaps hundreds of thousands of years old had been potentially identified in Africa.

In any case, the Sumerian stories predate any of the biblical books, even Enoch, for hundreds, even a couple of thousand years. It is more likely that the Bible is a retelling of Sumerian stories.

Guys, I think I know what Courtney Brown's claimed announcement would be. Read below for the points, based on my guesses.

1. The announcement won't be made by any member of the Farsight Institute. It might be made by people working with official government agencies, such as NASA.

2. The announcement will be about the discovery of intelligent life outside of Earth. An example of such an announcement would be "Ruins of an ancient technological civilization discovered on Mars". This announcement might be followed by the genetic connections of said civilization with our genetics.

3. The announcement might also include covert contact between ETs and historical Earth figures in the past, like Chinese Emperor Shih Huang Di and others.

Such an announcement would be mind-blowing, as it proves ET intervention in our ancient history. So I think this is what Courtney's announcement would be.

you'd think the aliens would have told the chinese emperor that imbibing mercury will not make you immortal but kill you?

It actually sounds like the story in the Emerald Tablets, if it were truth, it tells of our true nature being hidden from us and the rise and fall of the Atlantis and the return. it is certainly worth reading the whole of it.

Update: More on the timing of the announcement.... There is still a lot of activity behind the scenes, including disagreement, angry emails, wonder, amazement, implied threats, international phone calls,..., you name it, it is there. The announcement will happen this month, but I still do not have an exact date.

Again, we are not talking about any kind of Earth changes, presidential revelation, pole shift, ET landing, second coming, end of the world, or anything like that. This is much bigger in its own way. It is just an announcement and the release of information, but information changes worlds more profoundly than anything else. Some will disagree and laugh at it. Some will marvel. But in time, history will show that our civilization changed its direction on the date of the announcement. You will read about it here, and elsewhere.

I am sure that WOULD answer a lot of existential concerns.
I m just not sure how "aliens" could answer that question.
But - obviously - I could be wrong.

I still think it's going to be about the remote viewing, though.

So it won't be about aliens landing but could be about having discovered evidence of intelligent life on mars or elsewhere. News that there is evidence of this comes the closest to a pivotal event IMO. Thereafter I can see a shift in how people understand themselves in relation to all that exists. I don't see a fast movement, nor an end to faith - but certainly it would lead to more questions.

Ummm, yes, he's a remote viewer and has 'teams' of RV'ers working with him; he did a bit a while ago where he told them to remote view a time and place that was secret to the RV'ers but it turned out it was supposed to be Christ's crucifixion. He decided from the 'evidence' they returned with that Christ hadn't been crucified at all, that a mentally ill patsy had in actuality been crucified in his place, and that Jesus went on to live out his life elsewhere.

So, your mileage may vary on this current prediction.

It'd be real nifty neato if he would specify the nature of the earth-changing event, whether it was going to be positive or negative, and the date if possible.

If you listen to his videos, they're very heavy on gosh-golly-gee-whiz type discussions and very light on actual content.

Given what's happening in the economic markets, a big happening in the next few weeks is somewhat assured and I'm sure it would leave some crying and some laughing...

Edited to add that although I think some RV'ers from the old Stanford Research days are quite talented, I don't feel Courtney is; he seems to start with a predetermined idea and then interprets the content of the RVing to match.
