he scariest part of the speech (for me) was the My-RA.

Government is going to take my 401k.

I'm not liking this.

That's what you need your exit strategy for. Take it out or get it seized. We've known they were coming after our retirement savings for years.

There is enough middle class money saved that if the government were to seize it for their "lockbox" (you know like the SS one that holds a bunch of worthless IOUs because they spent it) they could wipe out the debt ... but they won't because they'll spend it on things they want instead of spending down the debt.

You know they can't stand us saving anything for ourselves. It's their untaxed revenue you know.

Of course American's don't count to their representatives, Republican or Democrat, the only virtue Republicans really have going for them is a wealthier and more vocal base to shout their dismissive opinions when they don't immediately benefit from the ideas being presented. Even if those ideas are similarly put forward by Republicans.

In the end all our political figures sound like small children arguing over who came up with the rules of the game they are playing or which one is the winner. The rest of us are just the "loser kids" on the sidelines that didn't get picked.

Always count on establishment GOP to make the POTUS look good. If there is anything they know, it's how to look just annoying enough without really winning because they're just playing a role. The script doesn't actually call for them to win.

I kind of expected her to walk over to a windowsill to check on the Apple Pie she left to cool, I actually met her during her last campaign and got a real "Stepford Wives" vibe off of her.

Anyone that does not clearly see that Obama has been blocked by the Republicans on nearly everything he tried to get through is not looking.

The Republicans have even blocked Obama on things they wanted but could not get under Bush! I don't like many of the things Obama has done or wants. It does not however change the facts. No President has ever been cock blocked to the extent this one has. Most of us know why......

I will be watching tonights speech for the first time in a couple of years.

Funny how no one else seems to realize this and I don't understand why when I thought ATS was full of positive thinking people. Obama can't get anything done because he is stopped at every turn. Now if he does nothing then he gets dismissed as a lazy, stupid, do-nnothing president. If he takes action as he has done then he gets labled as stubborn headed and difficult to work with. He's in a no-win situation and gets blasted whichever way he moves.

"Those" people who are blocking him also represent Americans.

Don't they count?

What you bring up is indeed interesting to consider
on one hand, the people have spoken twice about the POTUS, so, you would think then that its the go-ahead for his agenda
But individual states have sent forward opposition...
So, America is wanting disfunctionality moreso than any agenda overall.

Just kidding. the msm and the big 3 news networks are ultimately wanting the endless clash of cultures..better news meat than bipartisan resolutions.

Well, ultimately we are just biding our time until we get strong artificial intelligence to become global overlord with perfect decisionmaking....(unless it runs on windows)

What I think Obama supporters haven't realized that is that many of us here are just as critical to the lackluster response by the GOP. But We just hate Obama cause he is "black....."

This is an excellent example of a good example of writing using a group name, then switching to the opposition and presenting a defeatist attitude, followed by a joke at the opposition group's expense in order to get the audience's attention followed by the hit message on the opposition group and a stereotypical joke about the opposition group to get everybody in the audience laughing.

It is pure deception studied as an art. Right down to the '''what I think'' intro and the ''GROUP haven't realized that'' attention grabber, and even the ''that is that'' clever stumbling for a cognitive frame reset. Then the hit on the opposition group and the joke to drive it home laughing. Oh, honey, isn't it so clever?

The name, the status, the writing, the signature.

What a waste of TV time for the GOP. I'm sorely disappointed in their choice of her as spokesperson. So many other people could have made an impact...all she did was look like a 50's TV Aunt Bea wanna be. I could see her giving a duck and cover speech to the first grade at my school in 1955. WTF is wrong with the GOP, wasting such an opportunity????

Hey wabbit? If it is found that..hypothetically Obama is not legal to be POTUS. would that undo all his executive orders..assuming the ones passed by Congress would still hold. Or would everything since he took office be wiped clean? Can't find anything on that.

Oh god that is a scary thought, Artificial Intelligence designed by the same people who made Windows 8. It might confuse all of us with mosquitoes and build an array of blue laser weapons to destroy all mankind.
