If the Nazi's had a bomb, they'd have used it the instant they lost Stalingrad and the Russians started pushing them back.
The Atomic bomb in question was said by Dirk Finkemeier to weigh 4.2t.* (in subsequent email exchanges Dirk said the German Bomb weighed 4.2t but
Little Boy weighed 4.8t with the addition of a special tail fin called the California Brake)
That required an aircraft able to lift such a load and also able to drop it from an altitude exceeding the 45,000ft service ceiling of the best Allied
fighters. Only one German bomber could do such a thing, the He-277 B5 or it's cousin the He-274 Amerika Bomber being developed at Tolouse in France.
Germany’s He-277 B-5 could carry a 6,000lb bomb load over 3,750sm distance at 49,210ft, or 12,000lb over 1,000sm distance at the same altitude.
Seven of these He-277 aircraft were built*, converted at Reichlin E-2 from He-177 A-6 prototypes.
GA+QQ Heinkel He277 V9 (delivered to Eprobungstelle Reichlin)
GA+QR Heinkel He277 V10 (delivered to Eprobungstelle Reichlin)
GA+QM Heinkel He277 V26 (delivered to Eprobungstelle Reichlin)
GA+QX Heinkel He277 V18 (delivered to Eprobungstelle Reichlin)
GA+QQ's airframe had the unique distinction of being all three types, ie an He-177 A-0, then converted to He-177 A-6, then converted again as an
He-277 B.
The British & Americans became aware of the Nazi Atomic bomb and threatened Hitler through the German legation in Lisbon, with use of the Allied
Atomic Bomb against Dresden if Hitler dared to attack Britain with an Atomic Bomb. Churchill also opened a direct line of communication with Hitler in
August 1944 through Romania's opposition groups. Churchill warned Hitler use of the German Atomic Bomb on the UK would result in the RAF dropping
Anthrax all over Germany.
Nazis were also preparing to use 10,000 Sarin filled artillery shells and V-2 Sarin rockets in October 1944 to drive back the Russian advances. I
can't recall personally why exactly the Sarin campaign was abandoned?
Possibly weather patterns were wrong and winds blew the wrong way?
That campaign was quashed when the manufacturing plant at Dhyrenfurth in Silesia was overrun by the Russians
