Ok, I was not sure I should even post this because I doubt people will believe me BUT I decided that I should in case others have seen this too.

I am in Cali and last night around 10:30PM I was outside getting a book from my car. I live outside of town surrounded by fields and have a great view of the sky. Anyway, I stopped to admire the moon as I often do. I was staring straight at it when I saw it blink TWICE. The whole thing flickered, twice, while I was looking directly at it.

I have no explanation for this. There were no clouds or anything else in the sky to block it. In fact it wasn't blocked out like something moved I front of it. IT BLINKED. I'm not on drugs and I don't drink.

I honestly have no idea what to think of this. It scared me. I live alone so I immediately called a friend, although I'm not sure what good I thought that would do. After thinking about it, I remembered reading about people thinking that there's hologram projections in the sky and all sorts of crazy conspiracies that I never put much stock in. Now, I'm not so sure.

I'm just sharing this in hopes others might have stories of their own or something constructive to say. Please don't bother telling me I'm lying, crazy or on drugs. I know what I saw. This was not something normal.

Thanks.

Taking your experience as fact the only way is for the sun to go out twice in a row or for something huge and dark to pass in front of the moon. Maybe you saw a massive UFO or a large bird fly in front of your face that you took as the moon blinking.

How long did the effect last? There is a horrifying story by Ray Bradbury in which the sun brightens considerably at night, and people party, except for those who knows what it means, that the sun has gone into a nova state or at least partial nova.

In any case, you now have a really nice personal experience, whatever the cause.

It blinked like flipping a light switch twice in quick succession. I'm glad you asked that bc that made me think of the light switch which gives a much better idea of what it was like. If I hadn't been looking directly at it, I wouldn't have thought anything of it since I know how the corners of our eyes play tricks.

relax theres nothing to worry about,,, sounds like you witnessed some top-secret military craft testing out there cloaking technology,,they usually travel in pairs with a wingman,,,most of the time they travel so fast that the cloaking technology doesnt bother to compensate for moon

You say "it flickered twice". Did it dim or brighten in quick succession? I would think that if it had brightened that you may have witnessed one of those experiments where they bounce a laser off panels on the moons surface possibly.

Though if it dimmed twice quickly, I have no idea.

On a side note, you might want to have your blood pressure checked. I had noticed a similiar thing happening to me (though it wasn't the moon) and at my physical they said that I had high blood pressure and this event can be caused by it.

Perhaps you could apply Occam's razor here, could it possibly be that you blink twice? Maybe your eyes adjusting from the dark street to the bright moon?

Just a suggestion. Sometimes It seems that the lights are flickering when I have a shower, but in reality I'm just blinking.

Is it just possible that you blinked twice without being conscious of it? Blinking is an unconscious mechanism.

The moonlight went away completely, just like someone flipped a switch on it twice in succession. I still saw the stars in the sky just not the moon so I don't believe it was me blinking. As for the BP I've never heard of that but I have one of those auto BP cuffs and I just took it... Everything is within normal range though I'll make sure to see next time at the dr and have a proper check done!

Honestly, I'm not saying the moon actually flickered, I'm saying I saw it flicker. I have no idea what caused it, I just know it wasn't me blinking and I wasn't impaired in any way.

Anything could be possible. Maybe it was a trick of light, maybe I have something wrong with my physically, but I'm not one to jump and report every little odd thing that happens. I've had lots of weird things happen to me but this stuck out to me. Like I replied to someone else, if I hadn't been looking directly at it, I wouldn't have thought anything of it.

Nah... Just the moon affecting the weather in the atmosphere, trickling down to affect his/her human intuition and perspective. I blame moon.

Not sorry, couldn't help it, read your last thread, hehehehe

Operation Moon-Blink:

The work consisted of 1) The development of devices to improve observations of unusual color occurrences on the moon in order to identify such phenomena and 2) a lunar surveillance program via telescope employing this specialized equipment.

Port Tobacco Observation:

A continuous visual patrol of the moon as resulted in three "Moon-Blink" sightings of color events on the moon by Trident personnel. They were visually confirmed by at least three qualified observers.

Here is one example:

August 21, 1965: John Gilheany and Lyle T Johnson, Trident observers detected a large scale blink within the crater Aristarchus from Port Tobacco.

Although it's not the same as what you are describing, if you happened to have caught a large scale occurrence it may have appeared at least to you the entire moon blinked because you brain was trying to comprehend what your eyes saw. Just a theory.
