It's minus 40 here with a little wind. It will be like that for a few days. Boy, am I glad it is warmer! lol
The flip side of the question, of course, is whether global warming is at least partly to blame for especially harsh winter weather. As we pointed out in a recent EarthTalk column, warmer temperatures in the winter of 2006 caused Lake Erie to not freeze for the first time in its history. This actually led to increased snowfalls because more evaporating water from the lake was available for precipitation.

I've just had my first ever frost-free December here in England.
I guess that's global cooling for you
I don't give blind support to any view...

The thing is If it is true and we have changed our climate and do nothing we will reap the consequences, If we are not doing anything to the climate nothing will change anyhow...but are you willing to bet our grandchildrens lives on it?.
To me climate change is happening be it man made or natural, I have noticed it for some time but us all arguing about why it is happening is not going to solve the problem, we must act now or our grandkids will look back on our generation as the most selfish evil twits ever.

If the fact that Al Gore who's family trust is heavily invested in Occidental Petroleum is not enough of a clue to tell you what a scam global warming is I don't think you will ever see the light. Of course there is climate change it happens 4 times a year. Summer, fall, winter and spring.
On board the Akademic Shokalskiy are scientists from the University of NSW, a journalist from the Guardian and dozens of tourists who have paid to be part of the recreation of Mawson’s expedition.

Supposing that's true (could be, don't care about Al Gore so haven't looked) that speaks to Al Gore's character, not to whether science is wrong on global warming or not.
I am with the Australasian Antarctic Expedition, led by climate scientist Chris Turney of the University of New South Wales. We are following a century-old expedition led by the British-Australian Antarctic explorer Douglas Mawson, who landed in Commonwealth Bay in January 1912. We – a group of scientists and paying members of the public acting as science assistants – plan to repeat many of Mawson's scientific measurements in order to understand how this pristine landscape has changed over the past 100 years.

Besides I'm quitting smoking (again) and am truly the super-biotch from hell so don't mess with me and that's my story til the death threats start after which I may reconsider. ):

Yeah, people really should learn how climate works before commenting on the debate. They might then learn there's no debate to be had and we're just in for a chaotic ride until we either pull our collective head out of our collective ass and solve it or we die. As you know, global warming will cause extreme weather, including winter extremes, for about as long as there is ice in the Arctic, once the ice is gone then we will have the global warming everyone thinks the term means.
