Thanks funbox.. this threads moved on a bit. Maybe someone can do an updated op if we get to page 100. How many anomalies on this thread alone. Cant all be rocks,dust,veins and jpeg artifacts ,or can it?

I hope they go have a look at the harpoon .it might turn out to be bamboo lol

yarg, you just reminded me of the Alsatians , would have nightmares tonight.

is a weird rock feature to say the least , why has it got a .. 10 metre ? 5 metre? 2 metre ? how long protrusion ?, I cant even say its background because its interfacing before the rock, interesting

maybe there's a military base nearby

From sol 375 mars.jpl.nasa.gov... look around 1 oclock and youwill see some nicer teeth. A miniture human head,with skin still attached.

Using Gaussian blur (or any kind of blur) just mixes the JPEG artefacts with the rest of the image, it doesn't remove them, so you are only masking the artefacts as part of the scene.
