Okay ... I'm trying ... why can't I get it? ARGH!!!! I wish I was techy.
I'm trying them both and it's not going ....

I'll put the nice red ice cream in as an avatar for now.
It's partly there.
I'm trying to get the pretty blue ice cream one full size ... and I can't figure it out.

I'm signing off for a week. I'll try again next weekend.
Thank you both for giving me some cute stuff.
Now if only I could figure out how to get it on!

I have a bottle of wine and a case of beer to acquaint myself with this weekend.

Been fighting wasps since last saturday. Killed about 30 nests on the buildings on my property. some of them almost a foot across.

Wasp spray isn't what it used to be. They keep coming back to the nests, so it takes awhile (and a lot of spray) to kill them. Haven't been stung yet....so providence is on my side. But now that the wasps are all gone....I hvae some cleanup to do (that I never got around to in the spring).

Thus...ill need the beer to stave off the 100 degree heat.

Honestly, I don't think it's the wasp spray that has changed.
It's the wasps.
Mutant killer wasps.
Or they are growing immune to the poison.

To Cody
Then have a great time this weekend.

And you my dear friend

I'm gonna make my ex mum in law's Iraqi kebabs and laffa (Iraqi Pitta) I'm pretty sure you get it in Lebanon as well.

And Mrs C is doing bunny chow ( curry placed in a hollowed out loaf, with the bread used to soak up the sauce). The curry is cooking as we speak

Damn I wish we could all meet up and have one massive ATS cook out weekend.

Oh my, that curry in a bread bowl sounds great.

I had Koosa today. Minced beef and rice mixture stuffed in mini zucchinis and cooked in a light tomato sauce.

Wasps.. yikes. Wasps are erratic this time of year because the Queens have left the nests. Destroying nests doesn´t help much as when Queen leaves the nest ( they do always in fall ) wasps loose their sense of direction and can´t find the nest, so wasp are homeless and hungry. Only Queens hibernate and other wasps dies in fall. How to catch those buggers..
There are many.. one is to fill a bottle just a tad and add irish coffee and a bit vanilla suryp inside also a tad of dish soap so it breaks the surface tension and wasps drown. Sweet juices ( not citrus preferrably berry juices ) works too. Wasps never colonize same old nests next year.

Good hunting

Shoulda built the house out of concrete, and just used a flamethrower on the wasps.

Ours aren't colonies like you would see in a "hive". In this part of the world, its paper wasps. Their nests look like this:

There aren't queens. They are more like a group of like minded individuals working for a common goal. And I don't dislike the creatures, for I like the social aspects they have.

- groups of individuals working together for a common goal
- passive until threatened

But not on my house/backporch/pool house. Since we haven't opened the pool in the last 3 years, they have gotten a bit out of hand. I want to finish my outdoor/patio kitchen this fall, and have been getting all the rent house repair stuff put back up in the garage...but the damned wasps have laid claim to all of it.

Nice ! and not !
You can still drown them and destroy the nests

i don´t like wasps much because wasps likes me. In this summer we stopped a car for a few minutes and bunch of wasps started to chase me.. so i started running.. i ran half mile and hubby tried to make me stop and get me back to the car ( he was driving next to me ) it took awhile to get those out of my skin.
I won´t be joining in the hunt tho unless you want to use me as a bait lol
