Very nice...but is the electric current part of the image, or an overlay?
Needs to not be part of the background to be used as an avatar.....just an FTR.

Thanks DTOM,
It's an animated gif, I was under the impression that they are OK for avatars (but not for backgrounds)?
cheers

The problem you'll have with this now is under 5/3 avatar and background combinations are no longer static. We used to be able to get away with placing an invisible gif with some kind of animation over a full length background which still fell within the T&C's.

Under the new site, I think the pics are reactive to the system they are on, so while it may line up on your computer and look right, it will be out of whack on everyone else's screen. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I remember in the early days of 5/3 this caused no end of issues for us, so we just either went for animated avatars in the 170x240 range or static backgrounds in the 200x440ish range. You could have a go creating the lightning on an invisible gif, but I can't guarantee it will work out right.

To my Aussie friends: i feel your pain about PB&J. I don't like jelly/jam/preserves that much, and when it do its with butter and toast.

But vegemite? Yuck...its just yeast.

Vegemite, you either love it or hate it. Half our household loves it, the other half can't stand it. We have 'Cheesybite', it's not as in your face strong as regular vegemite which is a personal favourite of mine.

I did buy some of this stuff once that was basically peanut butter and raspberry jam all swirled together, and supposedly that's a huge hit over in the US, but I think it's just the combination of sweet on sweet that makes it too much to handle for me personally.

I love a good BBQ, preferably brisket!!
Goes with beer, tea, water...LOL

We don't eat as much pizza as we used to, but that goes well with beer too

Now my PB&J goes best with milk!!
It's just mainly a quick filler for when we are on the go

Funny how one thing is a hit in one country and a flop in another
I love hearing of other places and what goes & what doesn't
It's interesting....

I've always found that an American BBQ differs wildly by area there, and is somewhat different to our BBQs here. Basically an Aussie BBQ is lots of sausages, chops, hamburgers, chevapchi's (Don't know if that's right, but they are like little hamburgers cut into a half-sausage shape), and generally sliced potato and onion. We top them off with coleslaw and potato salad, and people generally have different things depending on what they prefer.

I do up custom kebabs with chicken or beef and put capsicum, onion and whatever else is in the garden at the time on them. My favourite is sliced kabana cooked up on the barbie. The secret is to cook them on the end and not flat.

Contrary to stereotypes though, shrimp or prawns on a barbie? Not for me. The most I'll do seafood wise is barramundi wrapped in foil and done over with lemon and herbs cooked slow, or occasionally replace the meat off kebabs with squid.

"Goober Grape" or any other such concoction of jelly and peanut butter premade in a jar.....i wish i could go back i time and stop its inventor.

On a side note....i think the avatar/background sizes have been made static.

I'm not 100% sure on this

There were some changes a month or so ago that made it like the old days... so we can do the transparent overlays again. I think there may be a one-pixel difference (up/down) between when someone is offline or online, but that can be dealt with fairly easily.

I was hoping that change wasn't permanent. It was the early days and I remember we tried Druid's blinking eyes, and somehow it looked right on his and on everyone else's she had four eyes....

I don't have the animation program on my laptop (main system's gone bye-bye for now).

We need to make up a 'Z' signal for when we need our super-Z....

I guess we should get Sheepslayer back in here for some cosmetic work too. Hangus just seems to disappear at the side of the page at the moment...

Yep... That's when the site went to a responsive design sort of thingy. I went into a major depression as a result. Then got better.... Then worse again... then better. And out of the blue for some reason it went back to static.

Oh, and as far as the bat signal for SuperZ... just u2u me. I check in even if I don't have time to contribute.

So, now I won't be passing bad info around

We can only retry some of the old avatar animations over static backgrounds and see how they work out. It might not still be the way it was sadly. Hopefully my main system will be back online today or tomorrow and I can start playing around with a few animations to see if it works out.

We have Super-Z back in any case, so that kinda stacks the decks in our favour....
