Bias exists in all forms of art. That is the nature of art. What you like is what you like.

Picasso sucks. That is my Bias and I am proud of it. Everybody would have a different view. That is what makes the art world go round.

I saw some of those the other day on memebase. They are pretty funny. Some are, anyway.

What about open challenges thread instead of contests ? I believe this would bring more people in as not everyone is competitive and having an blast just trying things out. It could be informative learning experience too.
I would leave contest for holidays and have ongoing challenges with various themes/ideas

I don't really "compete" in contests. I enter, and try to make sure I get 3 entries (to support the cause). For Christmas, my main entry was my own avi, with my other 2 being more just the result of me playing around a little.

I am fiercely competitive IRL. I don't allow myself that indulgence with my hobby. It takes the fun out of it.

We'll have a quick Valentine's contest....starting this week, I hope.

THEN...something new, and it might be a bit of an experiment....maybe not something everyone will be interested in....a bit more challenging.....
So, everyone starts with the same basic image...and then "contestants" do their own majic.....

There is free stock images for example Morguefile which can be used freely. Also so called fan art is fair use and do not violate copyrights as long as its used in avatars, banners, posters and photo collages. Fan art needs to have something more than cropped image or part of image, it has to have something more what fan artists donate to image or modify image.
So pick a picture of movie / tv serie it can be poster too and modify it. Or use a theme from stock image gallery

So ideas..
